"Master Feng Yu!"
Nanako emerged from the water, calling out to Feng Yu with excitement.
"Master, I feel so light..."
With that, Nanako leaped effortlessly, running across the water's surface, her feet barely touching the water as she sped toward the shore.
"I feel an unprecedented sense of comfort all over my body!"
Feng Yu nodded, observing her physical transformation. "It seems you've absorbed it well. Your natural speed was already exceptional, and now with your improved talent, try testing your speed again."
Nanako nodded enthusiastically and took off running. In the blink of an eye, she had crossed ten meters, her speed doubled compared to before.
"Master, look at me!" Nanako waved from a distance, her voice full of joy.
"Let the Marrow Cleansing Pill work to its fullest. Let Nanako absorb it all."
Feng Yu continued watching her intently.
Soon, Nanako returned, beaming as she looked up at Feng Yu, clearly pleased with herself.
"Good. Now, let's begin today's training."
Feng Yu's expression turned serious, and he led Nanako up the path toward Mount Sagiri once again. This time, Nanako no longer looked as exhausted as yesterday. Instead, she wore a look of ease.
"Remember, the training is just starting, and it will only get harder from here. What I need to do now is unlock your full potential so that you can carry out the revenge for your mother when the time comes."
"Do you understand, Nanako?"
Feng Yu asked, his voice firm.
Nanako nodded and followed, her face thoughtful.
"Understood, Master Feng Yu."
It didn't take long for them to reach the mountain's summit. Nanako was still catching her breath, but she was far better off than the previous day.
The rules remained the same as yesterday: return to the wooden hut before dark.
Feng Yu suddenly leapt into the air, landing atop a tree, then disappeared from Nanako's sight.
"What's this... Master Feng Yu pulling a disappearing act like Sakonji Urokodaki? Guess it runs in the family..."
Nanako stuck her tongue out, muttering to herself before turning to head down the mountain. However, as she moved, she noticed something was wrong. The traps and obstacles had increased in number. Despite her improved speed and reflexes, she found herself tripping and falling frequently.
She dodged a deep pit in the ground, but just as she did, a massive log came crashing down at her, and traps from all directions activated at once.
Nanako barely managed to avoid the first wave, but a trap was too quick, and she fell straight into a deep pit.
"So it's not that simple..."
Nanako muttered to herself with frustration, then started running again. From above, Feng Yu watched her carefully, noting the obstacles she faced and how she occasionally stumbled or was knocked back.
"Once she's able to handle this training with ease, we can move on to the next stage..." Feng Yu murmured to himself.
Time passed swiftly, and soon dusk arrived, signaling the coming of night.
"Why do I have a bad feeling about this..."
He gazed into the distance, the mountain forest stretching out before him, as tranquil as ever. Memories flooded his mind—his journey from the other side of the mountain, asking locals for directions, reaching Mount Sagiri, seeking out Sakonji Urokodaki to become his disciple, and the trials he had endured.
The memories played out clearly in his mind.
Looking at the reddish-orange sky, Feng Yu's face grew complex with emotion. He often wondered whether the world of Demon Slayer was real or just a dream. It felt real, but his memories of the past life were vivid.
In his past life, this world was merely an anime, but now it felt alive. Which world was truly real, or were both real in their own way?
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Feng Yu tried to dismiss the confusion. But just then, his sense of foreboding intensified, an ominous feeling surging within him.
"What's going on?"
His heart raced as his special state activated, and the world before him seemed to empty, his senses sharpening.
"Could something have happened?"
He gasped, feeling more and more agitated.
"Master, urgent news! Urgent news from the southeast! Two Upper Rank demons are attacking! Emergency rescue needed for Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka!!"
Xiao Hei's voice echoed urgently in his mind.
"Two Upper Rank demons..."
"Xiao Hei, we're going now!"
Without hesitation, Feng Yu leapt onto Xiao Hei's back, and they sped toward the southeast.
Xiao Hei unleashed his full speed, a shadow blurring on the ground, so fast that no one had time to react before they vanished.
Meanwhile, at a ruined house:
A blood-soaked man held a young girl tightly in his arms. The girl was crying uncontrollably, gently wiping the blood from his face.
"Father... is Mother... gone?"
The girl looked at the lifeless woman lying in a pool of blood, her voice breaking.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry, I couldn't protect her... Meixiu..."
The man's hand trembled as he stroked the girl's face, filled with sorrow.
Outside, sounds of violent fighting echoed as three figures clashed. The immense destruction was shaking the already damaged house to its limits.
Amidst the chaos, Meixiu's thoughts raced, her mind flickering with memories of Feng Yu.
"Brother Feng Yu... where are you?"
"Please come save Father... You said you would protect us..."
Meixiu's face twisted in despair when she saw the man who had once been a mentor to Feng Yu, now being overwhelmed by the two terrifying demons. The last thing she saw was Giyu Tomioka being thrown backward into a beam.
"Bang!"
Giyu Tomioka crashed into the house's wooden beam, a harsh sound followed by a violent cough of blood.
Meixiu's gaze was filled with hopelessness as she clutched her father tighter, the despair clear in her eyes.
Back in the mountains, Feng Yu's sense of unease grew stronger with each passing moment. His nerves were on edge.
"It's impossible... it can't be Giyu Tomioka..."
Then, realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. Xiao Hei's flight path was headed straight for the direction he had once taken to reach Mount Sagiri.
The night descended rapidly, a dark curtain falling over the world, as hidden dangers began to reveal their teeth.
Feng Yu felt a growing urgency. He had planned to visit Meixiu's family soon, perhaps even bring them to live with him.
"Please, don't let anything happen to them..."
