The elementals moved with terrifying speed, their molten bodies leaving trails of fire in their wake. Kael barely had time to react as one lunged at him, its claws striking the ground where he had stood moments before.
"Focus on their cores!" Seris shouted, dodging another attack. "It's their only weak spot!"
Kael rolled to his feet, his sword glowing faintly as the Heart's power surged within him. He struck at the nearest elemental, aiming for the glowing core at its center. The blade connected, and the creature let out a deafening roar before crumbling into a pile of ash.
Varyn fought beside him, his blade flashing as he parried the elementals' strikes. "There's too many of them!"
"We've handled worse odds," Marlen called out, hurling a dagger that struck another elemental's core. "Just keep moving!"
Seris was a blur of motion, her knives cutting through the air with deadly precision. She moved with a grace that was almost inhuman, her strikes calculated and efficient.
Kael focused on the Heart, drawing more of its energy to enhance his speed and strength. But with each burst of power, he felt its presence growing stronger, its whispers more insistent.
"Not now," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head to clear his thoughts.
The battle raged on, the group fighting as one to take down the relentless elementals. Slowly but surely, they began to thin the ranks of their molten adversaries.
Finally, only one elemental remained. It was larger than the others, its core pulsing with an intense, fiery light.
"This one's different," Seris said, her tone grim.
