The next day, Maria went to the municipal library. As he left the house he felt a strange spark in his head. Suddenly, he heard voices—not just any voice, but the thoughts of passersby. Before the spark, Maria had been caught walking for more than an hour. "Wow, what a nice watch," he thought. As she continued walking, the spark intensified and Maria found herself hearing the thoughts of those around her. She saw a man rummaging through a trash can, and a voice in her head said, "Where could my watch be?" »
Maria approached the man and asked, "What are you looking for?" The man replied, "I'm looking for my watch. I think I left it somewhere on the street." »
Maria smiled and handed the man the watch. "I think I already found it," she said. The man's face lit up with gratitude. "Thank you very much! I'm a very honest person."
Maria continued her way to the library. On the way, she received a message from Jim. "Hello, how are you? You should take a cold shower," Maria joked, rolling her eyes and replying, "I think you should take your own advice.
Maria arrived at the library and approached the librarian. "Excuse me, do you know where to find the 1974 newspaper, specifically the one about the fire in our school?"
The librarian looked at Maria sternly. "You mean I'm old? Go get it yourself!"
Maria forced a polite smile. "Wow, thanks."
A gentleman who had seen the exchange shook his head. "Don't pay attention to the librarian, it's like that. Not all the books here are organized. It took me two weeks to find a book." He left, leaving Maria to search.
Maria remembered her new ability to read minds and tried to put it into practice, but no one seemed to care about the incident at school. He wandered around the library until he saw Charlotte, the cheerleader flirting with Jimmy. As she approached, Maria discovered that Charlotte was thinking of becoming a cheerleader. Suddenly, Maria remembered that Katherine, the girl from her dreams, was also a cheerleader. Maria's curiosity was piqued and she approached Charlotte.
Maria approached Charlotte, who was looking at her with a mixture of surprise and curiosity. "What are you doing here?" Aren't you supposed to be with your boyfriend, Jim?" Maria ignored the question and asked, "I'm looking for a cheerleader's diary." Charlotte raised an eyebrow. "Oh, you want to be a cheerleader?" I thought you were one of those... "but it doesn't matter."
Maria looked into Charlotte's mind and found that she had heard "monsters." Maria smiled wildly and said, "It's a good thing cheerleaders can save the world from monsters."
Charlotte's eyes widened in surprise. "That's what I said before! How are you...?"
Maria shouted, "I'm looking for a newspaper article about the fire at our high school in 1974 and the cheerleader involved in that fire."
Charlotte's expression turned serious. "I don't know," she said out loud, but her thoughts betrayed her. "Why are you investigating the Katherine Nunez incident?"
Maria's eyes locked on Charlotte's. "Yes, it's Catherine. Do you know anything about this?"
Charlotte hesitated before answering, "How do you know Katherine?"
Maria made up a story. "She's just a friend of my grandmother's family."
Charlotte pointed Maria in the direction of the library archives. After rummaging through the dusty shelves, Maria finally found the 1974 magazine. Flipping through its yellowed pages, she exclaimed, "I get it! You're the girl in my dream, but what…?"
A photo of Richard caught her eye, she quickly snapped a photo and sent it to Jessica. Jessica's response was immediate: "You have to talk about the photo."
Maria's mind was racing. What did Richard have to do with Katerina and the school fire? She felt a shiver run down her spine as she wondered if Richard was connected to her strange dreams.
