I woke up to the sound of whispers, my mind foggy and disoriented. Lyrien sat beside me, his eyes fixed on mine . The chamber's dim light cast eerie shadows on his face making him appear both captivating and intimidating.
"How long have I been asleep?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper .
" A day, perhaps two" Lyrien replied , his expression unreadable. " You have been through much"
I tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over me. Lyrien grasped my shoulder, holding me steady . His touch sent shivers down my spine
" Rest" he urged . " You're not yet strong enough"
I pushed his hands away, frustration and fear simmering . " Why am I here? What do you want from me?"
Lyrien's gaze intensified , his eyes burning with an inner fire. " You're under my protection now, Aria. No harm will come to you
" Protection?" I repeated , incredulous . " You call this Captivity protection ?"
Lyrien's expression softened, his voice taking on a hint of melancholy . " I've watched you for some time , Aria . I know your heart ,your spirit . You're different from others "
" Different?" I echoed, curiosity piqued despite my fear.
Lyrien nodded . " Your courage, your determination .... It's rare. And your family's history " He trailed off, his eyes clouding .
" What about my family?" I pressed, sensing hidden truths
Lyrien's gaze locked into mine. " Your ancestors were involved in the mystical arts. They understood the balance between worlds "
I frowned , confusion swirling ." What balance? What worlds?"
Lyrien leaned closer, his breath whispering against my ear. " The veil between human and supernatural realms is thinning. You, Aria, are key to maintaining that balance."
I reeled , overwhelmed . " Me?How?"
Lyrien's smile was enigmatic . " Your bloodline holds the secret . Trust me, Aria , and I'll guide you through this labyrinth."
As Lyrien spoke , the chamber seems to darken, shadows deepening. I felt the weight of his words , the mystery surrounding me.
