Chapter 5: A Walk in the Park
The next day, Ava was busy preparing for the lunch rush when Liam walked into the bakery again. This time, he had a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
"Hey," he said, smiling at Ava. "I was wondering if you'd like to take a walk with me in the park. It's a beautiful day outside."
Ava's heart skipped a beat as she looked at the flowers. No one had brought her flowers in a long time.
"That sounds lovely," she said, smiling up at Liam.
As they walked through the park, Ava felt a sense of peace wash over her. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and Liam was by her side.
They talked about everything and nothing, laughing and joking like they had known each other for years.
As they walked, Liam told Ava about his job as a consultant, and Ava shared stories about her bakery.
The more they talked, the more Ava felt a connection with Liam. She couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to him, how much she enjoyed his company.
As the sun began to set, Liam and Ava found themselves at the edge of the park, looking out over the lake.
"It's beautiful," Ava said, sighing contentedly.
Liam nodded, his eyes locked on hers. "Yes, it is," he said, his voice low and smooth.
Ava felt a shiver run down her spine as Liam's eyes held hers. She knew in that moment that she was in trouble.
She was falling for Liam, hard.
