Chapter 28 - Chapter 28 : Playtime

"Strange", Khaos rubbed the very small stubble on his chin. "How can these people just kidnap Cultivators in the middle of the day without anyone seeing anything?"

Zara shook her head. "No idea", then she looked into the sky, "Maybe they flew straight down, snatched the victims then straight back up".

Just at that moment, two figures dressed in black clothing landed a few meters away. Their faces were covered, only leaving a slit for the eyes.

A second later, both of them dashed forward Khaos and Zara, an intense fire coating their forearms.

"Wait!" Khaos shouted with his palms raised in front of him. The attackers stopped their charge abruptly as they raised two thick walls of earth to block Khaos' attack. However, instead of feeling the attack on their walls, they only heard Khaos and Zara talking.

"Both are only in the seventh stage, just like us. So how do you want to do this?" Zara asked.

"If we fight together it wont even be a fight, so why don't you leave them both to me. I feel like having a little fun". Khaos said.

Zara sighed. "Fine then, have fun". She then began flying away until she stood in the air 500 meters away.

While Khaos and Zara were talking, the two attackers were in a state of shock. They were even considering running away, but the Avatress' orders were clear.

Normally, if anyone else said they could easily beat two cultivators in the same stage as them, they would laugh it off. However the cultivators in front of them were not ordinary Cultivators, they were Academics.

"Come on, he is still a single person. Let's kill him before the other one get's back", one of the cultivators said and the other one nodded. Then both of them shot forward.

"Let's see if i can beat them without moving from this spot. I also have to shout out my attacks, definitely" Khaos mumbled as he watched the cultivators in front of him close in. 'So slow'.

Then when they were five meters in front of him, he held out one hand; "Wind barrier", he said, and an intense wind began blowing from the ground in upwards, forming a wall. The wind would be invisible if it was not for the leaves and sand which got caught up in it.

Seeing the wind wall, the cultivators did not stop their charge, one of them just slowed down so he was slightly behind his companion.

Fire gathered on the palms of the cultivator in the front and he directly punched the wall, his fist penetrated the wall a little bit before his entire body was flung into the air, being carried by the wind.

"Up up and up he goes". Khaos laughed, "Man that gets them every single time".

Seeing what happened to his friend, the other cultivator slammed his feet into the ground and jumped backwards, away from the wind wall.

Then he sent conjured over 3 dozen earth spears, hurling them all at Khaos' wall of wind.

Khaos smiled, "Oh, i love it when people learn from others' mistakes", he said before snapping his fingers; "Switch". At that word, the wind wall transformed into one made of earth.

Explosions resounded and the ground shook as the spears collided with the earth wall. "Oh welcome back", Khaos said, turning his neck to look at the cultivator behind him.

The one who had clashed with the wind shield had dislocated his shoulder and his arm was just hanging there.

He could have popped it back into place, but he wanted to use the chance when Khaos was concentrating on blocking the barrage of earth spears. With his working arm, he conjured a torrent of fireballs straight at the unprotected back of Khaos.

However, Khaos just raised his other arm, and the earth wall blocking the earth spears grew taller before curving and stretching to also cover his back as well. The earth spears and fireballs only scratched Khaos' arch shield.

Even those scratches were repaired in an instant. It took less than a couple of seconds for the attackers to realise that their attacks were useless, they had thought that they could exhaust Khaos' Flux, but his relaxed expression told them otherwise.

Then they started flying around Khaos, attacking from different sides with different elements. However, Khaos just split his arch wall into two, and each part followed one of the cultivators, blocking their attacks with no apparent effort.

Khaos sighed at that sight, "You are even weaker than i thought", he said. "Let me educate you a little bit, you have absolutely no chance at beating me anyway".

"There are 3 main reasons why you stand no chance against me; the first reason is my innate talent. I was born with high control over Flux, giving me an advantage over others straight from birth".

"As a stage five cultivator i could already fight a stage six cultivator or two stage five cultivators". Khaos said. "And that was before i even entered the Academy". He added.

"The second reason is a certain pill, only found in the Academies, now this pill slightly increases one's Flux sensitivity and control. But for me, it had a different effect. Thanks to that pill, i can change the Flux element in my core before i release it".

"Let me explain; usually a Flux core is divided into five parts, each part containing the flux of an element. But i, and only i, can forcefully convert all the flux in my core to be of a single element, right now it is of the earth element".

"This pretty much multiplies my Flux storages by five times, it also multiplies the strength of my elemental attacks by five times. So i am five times stronger than a non-Academic Cultivator on my stage"

"The third and final reason is that i have a master who does everything he can to make me more powerful. My master is a Defender captain, in the later stages of the Resurgence realm. You can't even imagine the power of that realm trust me".

"So to conclude, seventh stage cultivators have no chance, eighth stage cultivators might be able to make me move but i would still beat them as long as it's a one on one fight".

"Only cultivators in the ninth stage can beat me, but not kill me. Of course it is impossible to find a ninth stage cultivator who is not part of an Academy. Meaning i am literally unbeatable to my peers".

"And now playtime is over". At those words, the two earth walls disappeared before a powerful gust of wind pushed down the two cultivators, they slammed onto the ground, unable to move.
