Six months later.
In a small room found on the last floor of the Black Academy, Khaos could be seen sited in the middle, Cultivating. Every inch of the room was covered in small blue crystals.
Some of them even grew from the floor, leaving only a path from the door to the mat in the middle, on which Khaos currently sat.
The crystals shone in an intense blue light, however it was not blinding, but soothing. Blue smoke also filled the room, being continuously released by the crystals.
This smoke was, in fact, Flux energy so dense that it took physical form, like the crystals, which were far superior to Flux stones.
A knock suddenly resounded from the door and Khaos opened his eyes. It was hard to notice, but a faint green pigment was present in his eyes, forming an ethereal halo around his pupils.
Khaos knew what the knock meant and he stood up with a sigh before walking out. Opening the door, another student stood there, and after a nod he went into the room while Khaos walked to the end of the hallway before shooting into the sky.
With his eyes closed, only the intense sound of wind entered his ears as he pierced through the clouds. After rising to an altitude of 80 kilometers, the clouds were below him while the afternoon sun shone above.
Khaos took a deep breath, which was not that effective since the air at that altitude was thin, he could barely keep his wind element in check.
Opening his eyes, he saw nothing but a grey blanket of clouds covering the planet as far as he could see. "Well, that's disappointing", he barely said as the last bit of air escaped his lungs.
Khaos then dispelled his wind element and plummeted to the ground, when he was 40 kilometers above ground, he stopped his fall and shot towards the Academy.
"Congratulations". Zara was waiting at the entrance of the first floor.
"Thanks, now i can probably beat you in a fight". Khaos said
"Just because we are now in the same stage does not mean my advantages over your fighting style disappeared". Zara smirked.
Khaos had broken through to the seventh stage of the Magic realm. That was an advancement of two levels in six months, something which would not have been possible without the Flux absorption bracelet and the Flux room.
Khaos just chuckled. "Were you looking for me?".
"Yes i want you to make good on the favour you owe me". Zara said.
Khaos furrowed his brows. "What favour?" .
"The favour that got you this". Zara held up Khaos' hand, revealing the bracelet on his wrist.
"Oh right 'that' favour. I had hoped you forgot". Khaos said, "What do you want?".
"Same as you back then, i want assistance on a quest". Zara said. "Let's go talk in my room".
Khaos nodded and the duo went into Zara's lodging, which had changed drastically from the day they arrived 6 months ago. Flower pots were positioned on every corner and a large, pink cloth carpet covered the floor.
The walls were also covered in paintings depicting different sceneries. This was what Zara had done with the gold from their first quest.
"It's so hot in here". Zara said as she stepped on the heels of her boots to remove them.
Then she also took off her trousers and Black Academy jacket along with her shirt. She was then left bare chested, only in her underwear before jumping on the bed.
Khaos was used to his friend's behaviour by now however he was still a man in his adolescent years. A 135 year old man was the same as a teenager according to planet Zylon's standards.
"Okay, here is the brief. When i saw the rewards of this quest i almost could not believe my eyes. It was a good thing i was at the shop when the quest was put up". Zara said handing Khaos a copy of the quest brief.
Only after the piece of paper touched his face did Khaos tear his eyes away from Zara to take the quest brief. Zara saw this and smirked. 'We will see how long you last', she thought.
Unaware of the plot happening inside Zara's mind, Khaos read over the quest and the first thing he saw was the rewards and his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"Reward is 200 marks and quest fee is 10% of reward (20 marks). You will NOT get your quest fee back whether quest is successful or not. Special perk; This quest might take time, so students are exempt from portal duties during that time and shall not be recalled to the Academy." Khaos read the reward before looking at Zara.
"Where did you get 20 marks for the fee?" He asked, it was not hard to make 20 marks with their power, however no one actually kept that many marks on them since there were a lot of things to buy with such money. Not to mention the Flux room.
"I was saving up for something which costs 30 marks". Zara explained.
"What is it?" Khaos asked.
"Not telling". Zara began playing with her hair and shrugging her shoulders up and down, causing her chest to move along, and forcing Khaos to look back at the paper before he loses his senses.
He began reading the actual quest details. "For the past 4 months, young cultivators from our city of Galor have begun disappearing, and their disappearance is only growing more frequent in the past month. So far 200 Cultivators have vanished. Please come and help us".
Quest details were written by the people or person who commission the quest, while the academy writes the reward part of the brief.
"So what are we actually supposed to do?" Khaos asked as he thought 'Galor huh, i wonder is she is back'.
"We are supposed to help them" Zara said.
"How?. Do we protect their children?, or maybe teach them how to watch their own offspring?"
"You are so stupid sometimes". Zara rolled her eyes. "We are supposed to investigate and find out what's happening of course, then make sure it stops happening".
"Well, this is going to be boring". Khaos said. All this time, his eyes never left the quest brief, not because he was still reading, but because there was something in the room he did not want to look at.
