Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : Academy reps

Surprisingly, the mysterious cultivator then removed his foot, threw away the earth sword, and offered Khaos his hand. Khaos looked with surprise at the outstretched hand before slapping it away and standing up.

Khaos then narrowed his eyes at the Cultivator, who was clearly stronger than him. He was not sure what to think of the situation, he had been attacked for no reason, but at the same time his attacker did not kill him.

"Who are you?" Khaos asked after popping his jaw back into place.

"Kato", the cultivator answered with a shrug, which annoyed Khaos.

"Why did you attack me Kato?" Khaos asked.

"To help you". Kato shrugged again.

"What?"

"I arrived when you had just broken through, and noticed that you were eager to test your newfound power. So simply decided to lend a hand". Kato explained.

"So you just attacked me out of nowhere?. Couldn't you have at least talked to me, or maybe asked for a spar?" Khaos asked.

"I could have done that, but i wanted you to think you were in real danger, it's more fun that way". Kato said.

"Fun for who?" Khaos narrowed his eyes.

"Oh come on, did you really not learn anything from our little spar?" Kato crossed his hands with a smirk.

"Leave me alone". Khaos turned around and went to sit underneath a tree, assuming a Cultivation pose, otherwise known as a lotus position.

"For your information, if you're here for the Black Academy recruitment, you won't be able to get in. You must at least be in the seventh stage like myself". Kato said.

"First of all, your information is outdated. Secondly, for a seventh stage Cultivator you are quite weak. Third, and this one is important; when i get stronger, i will kill you".

"What?" Kato furrowed his brows as the grass close to him bent from the pressure he was emitting.

"You attacked me for no valid reason. So if you let me live now, i will kill you in the future and even if you do not join the Black Academy, i will find you". Khaos said without even opening his eyes.

Kato narrowed his eyes as he calmed down somewhat. 'Could he really grow to catch up to me?' he wondered.

Kato could not tell whether Khaos was serious or just spewing nonsense. However, he got a strange feeling from this stage five Cultivator, he felt a small amount of fear. He was afraid of the possibility. 'I can't risk it'.

Kato gathered water on his right hand, but before he could unleash it, someone else landed in the clearing, right between the two.

When Khaos saw the new arrival, he took a deep breath of relief. He knew that there was a 95% chance that Kato would kill him, and he was more terrified of the idea than he thought. He did not even know why he said what he said, but Kato's actions had really angered him.

The new arrival was a middle aged woman in her early five hundreds, he had pinkish skin with silver eyes which reflected boredom. Her long red hair reached her lower back, and the loose black robes she wore covered her entire body, including her hands.

The emblem of the Black Academy was proudly displayed on her back.

She took a glance lasting less than a second at Kato before frowning at Khaos. Then a few seconds later she shook her head slightly before walking to the middle of the clearing and flicking her finger. At her gesture, a two meter tall throne made of earth rose from the ground and she quickly sat atop it.

Then with another wave of her hand, a branch from the tree closest to her suddenly extended until it stopped above her. Then leaves started growing on the branch until they formed a small canopy above her head. Shielding her from the morning sun.

Kato watched this with excitement, longing and determination while Khaos was straight up flabbergasted. After picking up his jaw from the ground, he walked towards the representative from the Black Academy, his gaze never left the branch above her.

"Excuse me senior, if i may ask, was that a law?" he asked.

The woman, who had closed her eyes, opened one eye to look at Khaos. "Yes; the Level Two Law of High PLant Control", she said after closing her eye again.

"So there are different Laws, just like there are different elements. I saw senior Ronan using the Level Three Law of Supreme Size and thought that was it". Khaos said.

"Oh you come from Lator?" the Cultivator commented.

"Yes".

"I am sorry for your loss", she said.

"It's okay". Khaos said. Three months ago, if someone had reminded him of his parents, his entire mood would have changed, but after sort of grieving for three months he had somewhat found closure.

"Can you tell me more about Laws?"

"No, you are not part of the Black Academy as of yet and teaching you laws now would not only be a violation of the rules, but it would also be pointless. Get enrolled first, then raise your power, then you can ask", she answered.

Khaos nodded. "I understand", he actually did not understand a thing. "Thank you for your time senior".

Khaos then went back to cultivating under his own tree, after glaring at Kato with a smirk for a few seconds.

Over the next few days, more and more Cultivators landed in the clearing, but Khaos did not even open his eyes to look at them. However, when one day was left before the start of the event. Someone landed in the clearing with so much force that a large dust cloud appeared and the ground shook.

Then, five seconds after the impact, Khaos watched on as a large man, 2.1 meters tall walked out. Khaos's body shook for a second as he saw the man, because he looked way to similar to his own father.

The only difference being that this Cultivator had a bald head and a clean shaven face while Khaos' father had been afraid of razor blades.

The man had fair skin and was bare chested, showing off his chiseled body. The shorts he wore were black and the emblem of the Black Academy was sewn on the thigh area. The man walked over to his colleague and sat on the throne which had just appeared next to her.
