Khaos had about eight follow up questions, but as soon as she sat down, the woman emitted an aura that dissuaded anyone from approaching her vicinity.
Holding the weight of over 60 people with the earth element was probably not easy, so Khaos focused on watching the fight. By then, the shock of seeing a 250 meter tall human had subsided.
With the help of the other human, who Khaos recognised as the one who carried him to the earth disk, the giant human had an easier time pushing back the beast.
Then when another human who could control some kind of red ice appeared, the beast died in less than a minute.
With the giant beast dead, the battle quickly came to an end as the Cultivators from the Black Academy killed every last one of the creatures. When everything calmed down, the earth disk slowly began moving, and in a couple of minutes, landed in front of City Hall, or what was left of it.
Then from the sky, the rest of the saviours in black descended, and the woman who was with the survivors joined them. "Citizens of Lator", said a man who stood in the front of the Cultivators from the Black Academy. Only when he spoke did Khaos recognise the Mayor of Lator, with his Mayoress beside him.
Their robes were tattered and a myriad of different coloured liquids covered them from head to toe. Khaos realized that the Mayors also had injuries, meaning that they also fought, which explained all the beast blood covering them.
"A tragedy has befallen our city". The Mayor continued. "Today marks the fourth time a Dark Dish has appeared inside Lator ever since Death Day, ten thousand years ago. We lost a lot of people, i myself lost my only daughter Mia, today", he said with a pained voice.
"However, we have rebuilt four three times before, and we will do it again. They might take our lives and our homes but they will never take our hope!. Humanity has survived this onslaught for two millenia and we will continue to do so!" he shouted, his voice breaking.
The Mayoress stepped forward. "We thank our friends from the Black Academy for their help, without them i do not know what would have become of our city. Because you are Lator.." She pointed at the survivors, "..not these walls", she gestured to her surroundings.
"The leader of our saviours would like to say something", the Mayoress said and stepped aside while one of the Cultivators from the Black Academy stepped forward.
From his hair and armour, Khaos recognised him as the one who was 250 meters tall a few minutes ago. Ironically, his normal height was only 1.5 meters.
"I speak on behalf of the Black Academy, we are sorry for your loss", his words did not have a hint of emotion. "The portals are becoming more numerous each year, and we are barely holding on", he said.
"That is why the Academy Council has decided to amend it's rules pertaining to the enrollment of new students". At those words, Khaos' ears perked up.
"As most of you are aware, a minimum Cultivation at the seventh stage of the Magic Realm was a requirement to take part in the entrance exam. However this is no longer the case", the Cultivator said..
"As of last month, you only need to be in the fifth stage of the Magic Realm to participate, and it just so happens that all the academies are enrolling new students in 3 months time".
Khaos narrowed his eyes, 'If i cultivate non-stop from right now, i will definitely break through to the fourth stage in two months, but reaching the fifth stage in 3 is impossible, except...'.
"The age limit has also been amended from 200 years to 300", This part did not concern Khaos since he was only 135, which was extremely young for a stage 3 Magic Realm Cultivator.
"We urge all eligible Cultivators to join our ranks and help protect humanity. And if you don't look good in black you do not even need to join the Black Academy specifically, any colour will do as long as you are on our side", he chuckled.
The cultivator took a step back with a friendly wave, making way for the Mayor. "You heard him folks, join our side. Besides, i don't think the beasts will accept any of you anyway", he joked and the citizens chuckled.
"Anyway since we do not have a city anymore, this is what..." Khaos stopped listening as he saw the Cultivators from the Black Academy leaving.
He quickly ran after them and took off, his Wind Flux had regenerated to about 15% by then. "Excuse me!, can i please talk to you!", he shouted, their flight speed was way faster than his own. Luckily, the group stopped mid air and turned to him while he landed on a pillar from a destroyed building.
The leader of the group floated over. "How can we help you young man?" he asked.
"I would like to join your Academy". Khaos said.
The Cultivator furrowed his brows, "Kid you are in the third stage", he said, as if Khaos did not already know that.
"Yes but i am quite powerful for my stage, and i am only 135 years old", Khaos answered.
"I have to admit that is impressive son, but there is nothing i can do".
"Please sir, i lost everything today, i have no one left and no place to call home anymore". Khaos pleaded. Tears threatening to escape his eyes as he thought about his parents.
The Cultivator pitied Khaos, he knew what Khaos was going through because he was once in the same boat, alas.....
"I am sorry son", he floated over and held Khaos' shoulder. "But there is really nothing i can do. My hands are tied, i am bound by the rules", he said.
"Okay, i understand". Khaos said weakly.
"What is your name?" the cultivator suddenly asked.
"Khaos".
"Tell you what Khaos, you find a way to raise your realm to the fifth stage in 3 months and if you join the Black Academy i will personally take you under my wing. My name is Ronan, it wont be hard to find me", Ronan said.
"Thank you, senior Ronan". Khaos said, "I will try my best".
"Don't add salt kid". Ronan said and flew away with his group. Khaos was left confused for a few seconds before he noticed that he was still wearing his apron.
