Chapter 5 - The Whispering Ruins

The wind blows across the vast expanse of The Shattered Lands, carrying the scent of decay and forgotten history. The landscape is a landmark where the remains of ancient civilizations are scattered across a land broken into scattered ethnic groups. A once prosperous city flourished here. Today, only sheltering structures made of rusted metal and crushed stone remain. The name of the city has been lost over time. The sky above melted as before. That's the color purple and the oppressive atmosphere. Obliterated by the stars Kael had dreamed of in his dreams.

Kael, Lyara, and Ryn stood on the threshold of the Whispering Ruins, a large complex of buildings with tall spires and underground chambers hidden beneath roofed cliffs. The ruins are said to have been a warm clock for centuries. A place where even the bravest discoverers would not wake up. The air around them was filled with a terrifying energy. Stunning vibrations that seem to stretch the boundaries of reality. It's something alive here - something old and cumbersome.

"We are here," Lyara said, her voice barely above a whisper. She adjusted her leather jacket and slung it over her shoulders. Her eyes slid past the entrance, "The Aetherlock piece is in order. Records show that this is where the final piece is hidden."

Skeptic Ryn crossed her arms over her chest. "I have heard these stories. Ruins like this are never as easy as they seem. Do you know how this place was protected - by what - recently?"

Kaels' hand instinctively stretched behind his grip. Now it's firmly in my hand. It pulsed softly, as if in response to the magnetic energy flowing from the ruins. He almost never questioned Aetherlock's power, though he couldn't help but feel that it was more than just a unit. It lives on its own terms. Connected to something bigger than the world they know.

The three of them waved their hands over and carefully pulled out the stones that had been marked as a path. The deeper it goes, the greater the pressure on the atmosphere. The walls are covered with unique glyphs and symbols. It seemed to be whistling in an old language. And echoing faintly in the silence, Kael could almost hear them speaking directly to him. Their voices, though distant, were mesmerizing.

As they descended into the heart of the ruins The muffled sounds of machinery grew louder and louder through the floor. There, in the middle of the large room, There is a biomechanical guard post - a rotating human figure. Covered with wrought metal and organic materials. Their eyes glowed with an unnatural light. And their movements are moving. They looked almost imposing as they patrolled the edges of the room.

"These must be parents," Lyara muttered with wide eyes. "They have been here for centuries protecting Aetherlock from intruders if we aren't careful. They will destroy us without using a needle."

Kael took a step forward, fear creeping up his spine. The clock post didn't move immediately. They seemed to be focused on the central platform where the last piece of Aetherlock rested, bathed in a dark and ethereal glow.

"We don't have time," Kael said in a low voice. "We have to get there before they find us.

Ryn nodded solemnly and pulled a small device from her belt – a holographic emitter that projected a shiny shield. "I was able to get through the first stage, but people would say we're already there. We are hiking We are trying to distract."

Lyara, the strategist, was always scouting the room. "There is a control panel on the far wall. If I could go in We were able to temporarily close the protection posts.

With a sharp nick from Kael, Lyara quickly moved towards the wall. Her fingers danced across ancient boundaries. Symbols on the panel flash in response. Old technology is awakened after the possibility of sleep. As she worked, Kael and Ryn kept an eye on the guardhouse. Every move was deliberate and precise and calculated.

Lyara's voice finally gave way to pain. "Take it. Post offline views – cute."

Without waiting a moment, the waving Kael leaned against the socket. His heart pounded in his chest, the pieces of Aetherlock glowing in the dim light. It is a piece of cosmic machinery that feels out of place and quite natural. It was as if it was stuck with him all the time.

As he stretched accordingly A lovely voice echoed throughout the room. A voice that sounded like å gi gjenklang came to his mind.

The sky is shaking.

Kael froze, his fingers sweating on the member. The voice was unrecognizable. Not just a whisper Rather, it is an order woven into the fabric of reality.

"When the sky falls So are the watchers."

The statement sent shivers down Kaels spine. Watchers He had been heavily pregnant before as a remnant of a dream. But the meaning always evaded him. Who or what are they?

before he could process the meaning of the message The guard's eyes glowed. Their mechanical bodies explore the sea. and the air gathered with violent energy.

Lyara cursed, "They activated it! We have to get out of here – now!"

Kael grabbed the piece and turned to move. But the guard posts were drawing near. And their enormous forms blocked the exit, Ryn drew her blaster. opened fire But the bullets only bounced off the upper part of the armored guardhouse.

"We're not going past them," Ryn snapped. "It's another way - up!" He gestured towards a narrow shelf as he was led, a path that led to a set of old doors.

Kael nodded and with Lyara at his side, he began to climb up the wall as his pulse raced. The Sentinels moved at impossible speeds. But they weren't fast enough to stop that layer from nearing the edge.

When Kael got up He placed the piece in his hand. The sum was slightly higher and more insistent. It was as if Aetherlock had reacted to the appearance of the guardhouse.

"We have learned something," Kael said. "Noe mye verre enn reveal these watch posts."

Lyara's face was pale, her thoughts racing. "The guards are awake. We've just scratched the surface. If the prediction comes true The sky will not be shaken but will tear the world to pieces."

With the final piece of Aetherlock in hand, Kael couldn't shake the feeling that the world had put together a script close to the unbelievable disaster Whispering Ruins had warned them about. But they had no choice but to press on. The sky was raised And nothing will be the same.
