Chapter 1 - A fallen fate

'What am I? ….Some say a long forgotten god. I was part of the galaxy gods till i lost my powers and walked aimlessly in the realm of men. '

I go by the name Henry, because I choose to hide my true identity. When first I landed on the human planet. I live within the locals. It was a small town, called Waverton. Not more than one hundred and four (104) square metre long and sixty-nine (69) square metre wide. I had no house of my own nor family to my name. I sleep sometimes in a local pub till I am chased away. While other times, in an old abandoned shack on the outskirt of Waverton.

The only friend I had was Billy Button, an aimless and homeless vigorous drinker and a man that lives on other pockets. He was literally a pickpocket, who has never got caught. Sometimes, he does menial jobs to help himself. He never has any full time job for himself. He had no family of his own, he was raised by foster parents, who later died by a catastrophic incident long time ago.

For myself, I never do eat nor drink water. And when I drink wine, I never get intoxicated. One might think it is a blessing, but it is not. It is more of a curse than a blessing to me.

Today is just like the previous ones.. The daily routine is to go to the place that Billy lives, an old abandoned building located also at the outskirt of Waverton. I will stay with him, while we gist about his ordeals the previous day. He usually brings out a bottle of wine from his collar jacket and we will drink together. We will that tell each other what we will want to do for the new day and our next move; if we had any, then i will have to go back to central Waverton and walk out my miserable day, thinking about how to get back my powers and return back to the sky where i came from. I believe Billy is a victim of circumstances as I am. Once I regain my powers, I will help him out of his condition. That is what I promised myself.

"Hello!"

Henry was sitted on one of the old amusement park in Waverton, when a young lady in her early thirties, walked up to me with pleasantries.

"Hi." Henry replied, expressionlessly. Keeping my gaze focused.

"My name is Priscilia," the lady said. Smiling sheepishly.

"Okay."

"I um...I have been seeing you around here sir. Do you live here?" She asked. Expectantly.

" why do you ask?" Henry replied. If she wants to flirt. Well she had backed the wrong horse.

"Because" she said. Still smiling" ...I know who you really are"

"Do you?" Henry then turned and looked at her. " How so?"

"You are Steria the god of steel" she answered correctly without hesitation.

" Oh well, that is not true" Henry lied, trying not to flutter to her notice.

"Look. You can be stoical as much a you can. But I know you and I can help you, because I am like you" she replied. " Take"

She stretched forth her hand and offered me a card.

" What is that?"

"It is my address" She said. " Are you taking it or not?"

Reluctantly, Henry took it.

"Hope it worth?" Henry muttered, audibly for her to hear it.

" You should not be this way" Priscilia said. " come to that address and we will talk"

Then she left.

Henry sat at the bench and looked at her as she walked off the lawn into the street.

'I AM LIKE YOU'

What does she meant that she was like me?' Henry thought. I might never get the answer till go to her place. I stared once more at the card.

' 341 Callum street'.

The so called Callum street is one of the most quietest place in Waverton. Waverton as a matter of fact is extremely quiet. Some days, one might mistaken Waverton for a ghost town. To Henry's intellect, their are approximaty more than a thousand people living here.

The houses are old but strong. Henry had to stare at the card once I pass each street.

'Where the hell does this lady lives.'

Henry was getting greatly impatient. He thought again about what the lady meant by she was like him. Was she also an earth-bound god?. He thought not. He has never thought that their might be others like him, living in this same town.

Finally, Henry found 341 Collum street'.  It was a one storey-building medium home. He walked through the terrain to the front door and knocked.

There was no answer. He repeated the knock again. Still yet there was no answer. Feeling much frustrated already, Henry decided to leave. His first thought was going to the backyard but, he brushed the idea away. He walked fast and left. If Priscilia or whatever she is been called is trying to play a game with him. She better rethink because he is not one to be played with.

He has not long gone far, just a few kilometres. When the sky changed and the clouds darkened. There was lightning flashed and a rumbling thunder. Henry instinctively knew that this might be trouble coming for him.

Just like a downcast. A figure fell from the sky and landed in front of Henry.

Kator, god of thunder was wearing dark cocktail coat. His hair was long, dropping down to his waist. His eyes were flaring with lightning, same with his hands. His face was fearless and tremendous.

"Sterian, my friend. I have been sent to kill you" Kator, the god of war said. His demeanour still fearful.

"Oh yeah!" Henry answered nonchalantly. "Well, if I still got my powers. You will be no match to me, Kator or whatever you call yourself"

Instantly, Kator started emitting thunderstrikes from his hands towards Henry. But unfortunately, Someone blocked his strikes. It was Priscilia.

"Run!" she yelled at Henry. Who quickly started running at the opposite direction. He took unfamiliar route from Callum street to Coastline Alley. He knew that he had to leave Waverton and go to the outskirts presumably Billy Button's abode.

"You are a fool Priscilia, god of the weak. You are helping an outcast god" Kator cursed. Agitated.

" You all got him wrong, Kator. He is innocent" Priscilia ascertain.

" What proof do you?" Kator retorted. Eyes still flaring with wrath and lightning.

Priscilia felt a bit subtle and calm for a while.

"That is it and now you have scampered away from the realm to come here and help" Kator mocked. " By so doing, you are making yourself a fugitive just like him"

" He is innocent. Kator." Priscilia maintained her stance. " If their was a god to be blamed, it should be Warmonger the god of war, he has been the trespasser for ages and has gotten away with it. He is a liar and has been making humans fight themselves for long"

"You know who I think is a trespasser? I think Sterian for thinking that he can maintain order and kind. By solely disobeying the realm of gods and helping men to forge steel" Kator answered eminently. " I will spare you both today but, next time you two might not be so lucky".

And with those final words, Kator ascended to the heavens within a twinkle of an eye.

Priscilia exhaled. She was already smelling of burnt skin and smoke. Her face stained with coal, and her hair looking tousled like one who escaped a firestorm. Withstanding a thunderstrike from the thunder god. Was a great feat that could only be pulled by a god. No man could survive that. Even she as a god has her limits too. If She didn't retaliate and continued to stand there on the receiving end, she will might sustain physical injuries or much worse set ablaze. Henry without his powers, was much more vulnerable. That was why she had to save him. And remembering Henry, she wondered where the god of steel might have run off to.

"Henry!. What have you gotten yourself into?". She asked herself.
