Chapter 32 - D-DAY

Ever was busy getting the twins ready in their room. She made sure Isla's hair was perfectly styled, choosing a pretty dress for her, and then moved to Leo, helping him get into his clothes.

As she adjusted Leo's collar, she noticed him staring out of the window, his eyes distant, a frown on his face. She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Leo? Are you okay, sweetheart?" she asked softly, trying to get his attention.

Leo turned to her, his eyes red and puffy, as though he had been holding back tears. His bottom lip quivered as he tried to hold it together, but it was clear that something was bothering him.

"I'm not okay, Mommy," he said in a small voice. "Isla... she's been bullying me yesterday."

Ever's heart sank. She had seen Isla and Leo play together, and although Isla had a stubborn streak, she didn't think she was capable of bullying her brother.
