Ever's hand tightened on the door handle, her jaw clenching as she glared at Allesandro standing there, radiating authority like he owned the ground beneath him.
"I told you I'd let you know when I needed you," she snapped, voice sharp and steady. "You don't need to show up unannounced. I can take myself for checkups I'm not paralyzed, Allesandro. So if you'd excuse me."
But before she could shut the door, his voice cut through like a whip, raised and commanding like he was scolding one of his employees. "Don't act stupid, Ever. That's my sperm."
The words hit her like a slap. Her eyes widened for a second more in disbelief than anything else before narrowing into icy slits.
"Your what?" Her voice dropped dangerously low, thick with venom and disbelief. "Did you really just say that to me?"
