Chapter 1 - Wrong time, wrong place!

If you are ever given the chance to get isekai'd in a fictional world, you'd probably jump in joy, right? I did the same. That's how I ended up with a sprained ankle and an injured shoulder after failing to balance my body after the jump. Damn, i feel pretty weak.

Anyways, I guess we should start with an introduction, right? I mean, that's how people would describe their journey in isekai tropes. My name is Daeron, Daeron Stone. I am currently in a medieval world after I woke up and just found myself there.

I was a full time employee working in a small publishing company. Pretty average looks, no girlfriend, just another dude who liked to play video games and watch anime and tv shows. I was pretty interested in war and strategy games as well as historical stuff. I collected a bunch of sword and gun replicas and built a nice collection. But I'm not what you'd call an outgoing person by any means.

So imagine my shock after I wake up in the middle of nowhere in a different world. No ROB, no wishes, no plot armor or superpowers. Hell, I'm not even sure where exactly I am. All I have is a huge headache and a dirty satchel that looks worn out.

Just fuckin great! I was poor in my past life; now I get to enjoy the same experience again. Like, I didn't really enjoy it fully last time. Maybe I did something bad and karma is hitting me. Nah, I'm just a weeb, what bad I can do other than watching some ehem, let's just call them cultural exchange materials.

All of a sudden, a wave of nausea hits me, and I start throwing up. The nausea is accompanied by a wave of memories, which I'm assuming belong to this guy's body I woke up in. It seems according to this world's social hierarchy, I'm the lowest. A bastard born from two people I don't even know. Because I was born in a place called the Vale, I got the default last name stone. It seems pretty barbaric, to be honest.

But this raises an alarm in my head. It looks like this is the world of Game of Thrones. That's interesting, as I have watched the TV series. I know the plot , so I decided to immediately find out what year and location I was in . If I'm there right before cannon, maybe I can get young Daenerys a as waifu! Imagine having the hottest wife who has 3 dragons! But back to reality , let's try to remember as much as I can.

My illiterate 8-year-old self didn't know how to count, let alone keep up with the news. You don't get many privileges as a bastard. So apparently, after being fed up with the orphanage matrons beating, he decided to escape, but sadly, he was caught by a bandit and freaking died! That's how I took over this body .

Nevertheless, I'm not one to bitch about my circumstances. I don't mind being born as the lowest of the low. I will change my fate with my own hands. Since I'm in this treacherous world, I'm going to go all in. No half assed attempts.

But first things first, find a settlement and get some information about the general situation. Then plan a course of action that gives the best results within the shortest time. The bandit who stabbed me took away everything I had , so I wonder why he left the satchel. Also, let me see how I look; that's going to decide my future luck with the ladies after all. Maybe I can charm a noble lady or rich young widow and live it easy. With my luck, that doesn't look possible for now.

I walked for a few minutes until I reached a small pond. I had the urge to scream as I looked at my reflection and mentally thanked whichever dude sent me here. I kind of looked like young Leon S. Kennedy with white hair and gray eyes. A handsome, somewhat dirty face..... Wait a minute!

Am I a Targaryen bastard ? This silvery white hair should be Valyrian, and since I'm in Westeros, probably I am from that house. But there shouldn't be any Targaryen bastards left in the original timeline. But the gray eyes, it should be my other parent. Maybe a stark. Heh, maybe my parents are the curent prince and the lord Stark's daughter!

Yeah, that's not possible. Then i wouldn't be in an orphanage in vale. I would need to solve this mystery someday. I don't care much about parents who abbandoned me, but it sucks right? The feeling of being unwanted.

I really hope I'm near the start of the main story, because I know very little about the plot before the Harrenhall tourney. But something tells me that this is not the era I'm familiar with.

You wonder why? Because as soon as I gathered my bearings, there was a large shadow cast above my tiny self. I looked up to see a giant red dragon flying above. Yes! A freaking dragon , almost the size of a large ship ! It looked majestic and powerful.

I was shocked to see a mythical creature right after arriving here, and the loud roar it gave out didn't help my mental condition. I suddenly felt wet below, and I looked down to find that I peed myself.

What is wrong with this weak body? This is embarrassing. I looked around to see if anybody saw my display, but thankfully I was alone. I ignored my soiled self and started rummaging through my satchel to see if there was a spare pant or anything valuable.

To my surprise, the satchel, although looked small, had like a huge space inside, like a spacial bag. I had a couple sets of clothes and shoes there, about 10 silver coins and 100 coppers, a small book named 'A Guide to swordsmanship' , and a finely crafted sword that shined brilliantly under the sun. There was also a map of Westeros.

After I brought out the stuff in the satchel, it disappeared , leaving me fuming. How does a 6-year-old kid carry an expensive, large sword? I'd be robbed before reaching the next town. Even if I learn to use it, it's not going to help as I'm too small. The sword is almost the same size as me , and I was around 4 feet tall! I need to get a couple of good daggers. The only thing I can do is to bury it somewhere before approaching town. So I went to hide the sword and started walking, following a few houses that seemed to be outside a town.

I approached a farmer and offered him a silver for some food and information. I didn't expect much, but the guy surprised me as he was apparently educated enough. He served me some bread and soup with a kind smile and started explaining. And folks, I really wished I didn't know them.

Apparently, this is the year 101 after Aegon's conquest, and a great council was just held to crown a new king after recent heirs died. Most of the lords are at Summerhall for that. He also told me that we are near Seagard now, belonging to House Mallister. He provided directions, and I left towards Crownlands after thanking him.

My goals for now are to train swordsmanship , build a strong body, obtain a knighthood, and then land and a lordship. I don't know when exactly that war starts, as I never read the books or lore. Thankfully, I had an argument with a nerd who knew the entire book lore. Dude basically lost his sh*t after I said the GoT ending was trash and the new series won't be much better just because they have CGI dragons. He started spewing info and comparison, and I got to know bits and pieces of information, most of which I forgot. I mean, who the hell remembers some online argument from years ago? But I won't be completely blind, at least.

I know that after King Viserys died, there was a succession war where the royal family fought each other, burning half the realm and killing their dragons. I think the heir was a girl named Rhaenyra, and she had younger brothers who wanted the throne or some shit. I vaguely remember the nerd was spouting some bullshit like Team Black and Team Green; maybe it was their fan club or something? So in the end , all the dragons died fighting, and there was some kind of young boy king appointed by the lords.

What a stupid story ! I mean, if both of you have dragons, go have a solo duel between successors; the winner takes all. That way, the damage will be minimized and there will be no contender. Why would you ruin the very strength that allows you to rule? It was clearly seen in Robert's rebellion that without dragons, Targaryens are pretty weak. Its not like they were physically strong or gifted; Rhaegar was literally smashed by Robert. So only dragons separated them from the rest. The idiots even let the major lords keep their titles and plot against them in the future.

That's just suicidal. You think you can get love after burning down and conquering other kingdoms? They obviously held resentments, but because of the dragons, they kept silent. Starks in North and Arryns in Vale, I understand. But giving Westerlands, the richest lands, and The Reach, the most fertile lands, they gave away the gold and food supply to enemies. If these two houses ally with Riverlands or outside enemies, it would be a diseaster. Not to mention the TV show where we see the future results of this. Lannisters need to go , period. If Aegon had more children than fighting Dorne so early, he could have placed his childrens to rule Westerlands and Reach by marriage or force, keeping the key powers in his hand. Dragons aren't invincible after all.

If, in the war, I support the side that fights against the Lannisters and we win, maybe I can find a way to take over? The Westerlands is indeed the perfect land with gold, iron, trading ports, and fertile lands. The reach is also nice; it also has trade ports, most fertile lands, and a huge population. In cannon time, they had 100,000 soldiers capacity.

But the quality was shit. Selling food and trading wine is their main income. But food can be spoiled if stored too long, also depends on demand and supply. Westerlands may not be fertile, but they could support 40,000-60,000 soldiers and still feed the people. Most importantly, they literally have mountains of gold ! If you have gold, you can buy food, weapon, even armies.

While riding the carriage, I started to form a future plan of action. Soon, Viserys will be king, and after his death, House Targaryen will lose their symbol of power, the dragons. I personally don't care much, as a bastard won't have a chance to claim one. So if all of them are gone, it'll be more beneficial for me to survive. I don't want to get roasted extra crispy randomly.

I basically have to form a theory from the end result. Who exactly was at fault? What triggered this war? Why was no dragon left before Daenerys's time ? I smell a conspiracy here. There's definitely someone plotting behind it. There was a wild theory that the maesters killed the dragons by poisoning them slowly.

Anyways, I don't have the luxury or strength to participate in these matters for now. I planned to establish myself in Vale if possible. They are the least affected in any war or chaos. It's the safest bet. You should always go for the safe backup plan while planning the riskiest gamble. That way, you can still win when you lose.

But if I want to progress my new house, it should be in a fertile area near the sea, with some mineral resources hopefully. Not only food will be taken care of, I can open trade routes . So it should be within Crownlands, or Reach logically speaking. But it would be difficult to become a powerhouse until after the war.

I don't remember who really won the war, but all the large dragons died, that's for sure I think. It would be nice if I could just claim one. Then I can just fly away until it's over and return as a powerful figure. Wait, that actually might work ! If I can sneak into dragonstone to tame a wild one or steal a egg or hatchling, I can slip away if I act fast.

If I get caught, I'll probably get executed. But this is a high risk high reward gamble. I can either keep grinding and hope for the best, and maybe in 10-20 years I can become a rich lord . Or, I can go for broke and steal a dragon. Well, fortune favors the bold they said.

But for now, let's not think about gambling with my life. It's not like I can guarantee the success. I'm not someone with superpowers or plot armor and this ain't a Disney story. But one thing is certain. I'll make to the top, and for that, I'll fight with everything I have.

Usually, people with cheats just claim a dragon , marry the princess and become king. I wish I was a wish fullfillment mc with a harem of beauties. But that ain't for me. i didn't choose poverty, poverty kissed me in face with a hundred ton hammer. For now, lets go buy the daggers, wrap the sword with dirty rags to make it look like staff. What else can i do, I'm not gonna keep it buried hoping noboody would find it. Even if I can't use it for now, I will be able to soon. Plus, this sword is the only cheat I got in this crazy world.

Swords are a mans romance afterall. Guts, Dante, Virgil, MiHawk, Zorro, not to mention the Fate series heroes with their badass swords, who doesn't want to swing a big sword and look cool after watching all of them!

By the way, why did I call this sword my cheat? Because i'm pretty sure it's a valyrian steel sword. The sword has bluish beautiful ripple like patterns, not to mention it's weight being light despite the large size. The shape is bit different, looking like a fantasy sword with intricate designs. The blade's starting point has beautiful black dragon head , as if the blade is coming out of the dragons mouth But no super powers sadly. Just a beautifully designed sword.

Hmmm, what should I name you? The bluish color and the design looks like one of the most famous swords among men, so how about FrostMourne? Yeah, thats gonna be badass, Just imagining myself wearing a knight's armor and waving Frostmourne makes me release giddy laugh. The future looks interesting.
