His grandfather was always strict and cold. His father was the biggest fool in the world. The stepmother who moved in as if she had been waiting for the opportunity was always eager to take what belonged to the siblings.
He had never received anyone's affection, attention, or care. He had to become an adult without even having time to go through puberty. He was so desperate to survive that he had no time to look after anyone else.
Without time to share sibling affection, Yvonne, his older sister, left home early. The occasional greeting was all the contact they had. Even from those brief communications, it was easy to guess that Yvonne's life wasn't easy either.
Even so, Hugo didn't care much.
