Winter took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. Her turbulent mind was gradually settling down.
The sky outside the window, which had grown dark, stretched out with neither stars nor moon.
It had truly been a grueling day, somewhere between late winter and early spring.
Suddenly feeling tired, Winter left the company right away.
Tomorrow was the day she had to appear in court for the first time. To do that, she needed to conserve as much energy as possible. She had no energy left to waste on unnecessary things.
It would be better for everyone to simply ignore everything that had happened there today, as if nothing had occurred at all.
It was just a momentary lapse in judgment. It was nothing more than a shallow sense of sympathy, and they had both misunderstood something. So, Winter tried to convince herself not to dwell on unnecessary thoughts.
