Even without that, there was a truckload of people just waiting for the opportunity to pull him down.
If the recent incident spread on top of that, it was obvious that someone would try to take advantage of the opportunity for shallow gains. He didn't want to carelessly give such a weakness to the masses.
Hugo slowly massaged his throbbing forehead. Irritation welled up involuntarily.
First, he needed to confirm who was hiding.
"Why don't you come out now?"
Hugo's low voice reached Winter's ears clearly.
But Winter remained sitting on the floor, clutching her burning forehead.
She couldn't muster the courage to face Hugo.
Then, the heavy voice was heard again. It was a voice that didn't bother to hide the faint irritation seeping through.
"I said, come out."
Winter began to feel scared at the man's intimidating voice. But she couldn't stay hidden under the table forever.
Finally coming to her senses, Winter gathered her courage and replied.
