With each movement Winter made, the floorboards of the long corridor creaked. Winter moved step by step, holding her breath.
Winter gently pushed her body through the open door.
The room was narrow and dim, without any windows.
Only a single red floor lamp dimly illuminated the space. The only furniture in the room was a queen-sized bed and a small nightstand.
It was a place with an obvious purpose and use.
"Lila, come out here, will you?"
Evan Park's voice was heard even closer.
Winter quickly examined the entrance door. The shape of the door looked not much different from any hotel room. It seemed designed to lock automatically when closed.
Winter pushed the door slightly. But the heavy door barely moved, just creaking.
If this continued, that creepy man would soon discover Winter.
Winter gave up on closing the door and quietly moved further into the room.
There didn't seem to be many places to hide in the small room. Winter looked around the room desperately.
