After taking a deep breath, Ellie pressed the call button. The name saved as "husband" had been honestly changed to "Ethan Jung" at some point.
Before the first ring could even finish, there was a click as the call was answered.
"E... Ethan?"
"Ellie! Where on earth are you?"
Ellie's heart trembled as much as his shaky voice. Deceiving someone and cutting ties with a person she had genuinely connected with was extremely difficult for Ellie as well.
She had to hurt him. Only then could Ethan forget her and find a new relationship.
"I was hospitalized. I had a... miscarriage."
