"You really can't get any news about her?"
"No. Why would I know about a girl who left after declaring to break off her engagement and adoption?"
The man's body noticeably stiffened.
"You didn't know? I thought you were quite close since you came all the way to the house. Don't spread rumors. It's not exactly something I'm proud of either."
"...Is there really no place you can think of where she might have gone?"
"No. She left without taking a penny. That heartless girl."
At Helen's curse, muttered as if grinding her teeth, the man turned around, saying he understood. Seeing his dejected back, Helen suddenly blurted out.
"Why don't you try the orphanage where we got her from? She grew up there until she was 12, so she might have visited at least once."
After hearing the name of the orphanage, the man nodded several times, saying thank you. Helen was curious about what he needed to convey that made him look so desperate.
