Chapter 22 - Casanova

David insisted on taking Asia to work. Not to the building, no. To her desk. People would talk but she had no choice. She needed a helping hand.

Asia had crutches. After Gabriel worked on the wound the previous night, she could step down without much pain. But he had instructed her to keep pressure off it.

Asia hopped on the crutches, David carrying her handbag and laptop bag. That would push the gossip mills. Who had ever had the Managing Director carry their bag for them?

They were just on time. Heads turned as they got to her office. David tapped on the door twice, opened it and let Asia go in first. He went in after her, said hello to her colleagues and rested her bags on the desk.

"Call me if you need anything. My offer still stands," he whispered and adjusted his suit.

"I will take you on that offer. I mean lunch," she caught David off guard. He chuckled.

"I will be waiting," he said, left.

She is shameless. Her sister is pregnant and abandoned yet she is pretending to be sick. HR is quiet because of the MD. What example are they setting? She isn't even as pretty as the sister. What did the MD see in her? Will he marry her?

Why were they talking within earshot? Asia fought tears. She didn't have a single friend in that department. Maybe have them fired. No. She smiled.

Asia thought for a second, got up and picked her crutches. She couldn't get her bags so she just left. That environment was hostile and she wouldn't tolerate it .

The elevator opened to the top most floor. Asia was upset as she went to the secretary. David had told her to let him know the moment Asia went to see him.

Asia wobbled with her crutches to her and asked to see the MD. The secretary nodded. While Asia stood there, a man that was there waiting as well got up. He seemed rich, in a league of his own. He got to Asia, said hello. Asia was so upset all she could mumble was a response.

"You have a nasty attitude yet even with the crutches, I can still take you for the night and make it worth your while," he smiled for a second.

David was going through his diary for the week when the secretary called to inform him that Asia was waiting. It hadn't been ten minutes since he dropped her at her office.

This better than David had hoped. He got up and rubbed his chin. He had already asked to have the Personal Assistant reassigned. Having his friend work with him would be great for everyone. The door was flung open.

"There is a crazy lady on crutches. She just hit my nuts, Mr Mara," the man walked in, furious.

"I will hit more than just your nuts, you pervert," Asia went in carrying her crutches.

"Are you bleeding? Come here," David scooped her up and laid her on a couch."You need the doctor,"

"You know her? She is fiery alright. Just my type," the man beamed.

David took a swing at him. He punched him straight on the nose. While the man reeled on the floor, David pressed a button and the security men were there.

Asia was on the couch, in pain. David looked at her and suppressed a laugh so she took her doll shoes and tried to hit him. He ducked both times, grabbed his phone and called Gabriel.

The secretary brought Asia's bag. David got her down to his car and while he went back to work, she was driven home, her leg killing her.

Gabriel, in his military fatigues, was waiting. He picked Asia from the car. She was too close, her arms round his neck. He used all his strength to control himself as he took her to bed.

He laid her down, took a step back and asked what happened. Asia looked at him. The uniform always made him look different, heroic. She looked down quickly to avoid his eyes and explained in detail.

Gabriel was upset enough to ask if she knew the man's name. She didn't but was sure David did. He folded her dress up to her waist. Pink nickers.

When he looked at Asia, she dropped her eyes. She seemed to stare at him but didn't want him to notice it. So he focused on the wound and let her stare at him.

While Gabriel worked on her, she cried at the pain. The wound was open. Why did she use that leg as a weapon? She ought to have used the crutches.

Asia watched the creases on Gabriel's face as he worked on her. His masculine fragrance floated to her, distracting her from the pain albeit temporarily. She looked at the dimples and almost drooled.

Then the pain. She screamed. That was nasty. Gabriel chuckled and promised to be over soon. He worked fast, ckeaned the wound then applied a disinfectant.

"You now owe me dinner on Thursday night." Gabriel said.He watched her body spasm as she supressed a laugh.

"Dinner Thursday night it is." She said, avoided his eyes.

"Thank you Asia," he said, finished up.

Allan came as Gabriel organized his tools. David had called him and given him the day off to visit Asia. David didn't like him but just wanted to make Asia happy.

Allan sat in bed and hugged Asia. She saw Gabriel watching them.

"Baby, what happened? How are you?" Allan held her cheeks.

"I could do with a cuddle. Gabriel here just fixed me," Asia said.

"One more antic and I will put you on bed rest. Stay off the foot and I will see you tomorrow. Call me if you need me," Gabriel left, his doctor's kit with him.

"Come and live with me. I will take care of you baby," Allan spoke as he got in bed.

"No, baby. But I will go to my place as soon as I get back from that trip," she spoke.

Allan pulled Asia close and planted a kiss on her cheek. She giggled, shut her eyes and was gone.

Allan stared at her face. He heard what she did. Hit a rich man's balls with her knee. He chuckled. His friends wouldn't understand. Asia was his world.

If Allan got her to his place, he would ensure she didn't leave. He would wife her and focus. Together, they would build their life and have the babies. He held her close, breathed and drifted to sleep.
