Chapter 8 - MEETING THE FAMILY

As the days turned into weeks, Ella and Desmond's relationship continued to blossom. They spent every spare moment together, exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and just enjoying each other's company.

One day, as they were walking through the park, Desmond turned to her with a serious expression. "Ella, I want you to meet my family," he said, his eyes locked onto hers.

Ella's heart skipped a beat as she processed the request. Meeting the family was a big step, and she wasn't sure if she was ready.

But Desmond's enthusiasm was infectious, and Ella found herself agreeing to meet his family. "When were you thinking?" she asked, trying to sound casual.

Desmond grinned. "How about Sunday dinner? My mom makes the best roast chicken in the city."

Ella laughed, feeling a little more at ease. "Sounds like a plan," she said, smiling up at him.

The day of the dinner arrived, and Ella was nervous. She had never been very good at meeting new people, and the thought of meeting Desmond's entire family at once was daunting.

But Desmond was by her side, holding her hand and reassuring her that everything would be okay.

As they walked into the house, Ella was greeted by the warm smile of Desmond's mother. "Ella, it's so nice to finally meet you," she said, enveloping Ella in a warm hug.

Ella felt a little more at ease as she was introduced to the rest of the family. There was Desmond's father, a kind and gentle man with a quick wit; his younger sister, a precocious and energetic teenager; and his older brother, a rugged and handsome man with a charming smile.

As they sat down to dinner, Ella felt like she was part of the family. They welcomed her with open arms, and she found herself laughing and joking with them like she had known them for years.

As the evening drew to a close, Desmond's mother pulled Ella aside and whispered, "We're so glad you're a part of Desmond's life. You make him happy, and that's all that matters to us."

Ella felt a warmth in her heart as she hugged Desmond's mother tightly. "Thank you," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "I'm so grateful to be a part of this family."
