"Today's class was kinda short" Kaiser says, stretching as he leans back in his chair, his eyes narrowing as though savoring the relaxation after an intense session
"Short, but it left a deep impression" Amelia replies, her voice trembling slightly. Her small hands clutch the straps of her bag tightly, as if needing something to hold onto to steady herself
Kaiser turns to look at his friend, his brows furrowing slightly. "Are you okay? Still feeling scared?"
"Of course I am" Amelia pouts, letting out a long sigh "It feels like she can see right through everything. If I make even the smallest mistake, Miss Lily would probably strike me down before I even realize it"
Kaiser nods thoughtfully, his expression pensive "She is very direct and sharp. I have to admit, it makes it hard for anyone to feel completely comfortable in her class"
"But also very captivating" Amelia adds, a flicker of admiration mingled with caution in her eyes "Did you notice? Just a few words, and she had the entire class silent and completely focused on her. It's terrifying, but… also impressive"
They both fall silent for a moment, lost in their own thoughts. After a brief pause, they get up from their seats and prepare to leave the classroom
"Anyway, I think today's class wasn't bad" Kaiser says as they step into the hallway "At least she doesn't seem like the type who just lectures endlessly. If Miss Lily teaches practical skills, I bet we'll learn a lot of useful things"
Amelia nods slightly in agreement "I think so too. She has a way of making things crystal clear, even though it feels a bit overwhelming"
Kaiser shrugs, a hint of determination flickering across his face "Well then, we'll just do our best. Like always"
"Like always" Amelia replies warmly. But there's a trace of worry in her eyes "Though this time, I feel like things are going to be a lot harder"
Kaiser gives a faint smile but says nothing, simply walking beside her down the hallway
After a while, Amelia speaks up, breaking the silence "Which courses are you planning to sign up for?"
She hands him a sheet of paper with a list of theoretical subjects that she has meticulously copied down. Kaiser takes it with a calm expression, smiling faintly. He had anticipated that Amelia would write it down, so he hadn't bothered to do it
"The only course that really caught my eye was Spell Array. What about you? I think we should stick to three theoretical courses for the first year" Kaiser says, skimming the list quickly
"I'm thinking three as well" Amelia answers, stepping in front of Kaiser to peer at the list with him. She then puts a hand to her chin in thought "So, Spell Array will be the first. After that… How about Symbolism and Ancient Magical Runes? I think mastering ancient runes will be really useful, especially for advanced magical research."
"Sounds reasonable" Kaiser agrees with a nod. "If you like it, then pick it. But what about the last course?"
He mimics her thoughtful pose by putting a hand to his chin, causing Amelia to stifle a small laugh
"How about Monster Ecology" Kaiser suggests after a moment "I think it's practical, especially if we ever face real-world situations."
Amelia nods, her eyes showing clear agreement "That sounds good. Let's go with that"
"So, are you planning to head to the student management office to register now?" she asks as they near the end of the hallway
"Yeah, that's my plan" Kaiser replies. "I want to get it done early so I can spend the afternoon looking for a shop to buy weapons, gotta prepare for Miss Lily's next class. Want to come with me?"
Amelia shakes her head, her expression tinged with regret "I'd love to, but I have to return to the palace to meet with some nobles"
"Already? It's just the first day of class, and you're heading back home?" Kaiser asks, surprised
Amelia shrugs, her tone casual "I can go back whenever I want. It's just a matter of whether I feel like it or not"
"Must be nice" Kaiser sighs, a hint of envy in his eyes "I wish I could do that too"
"If you want, you could become royalty right this moment" Amelia replies firmly
"..."
"..."
Realizing what she just said, Amelia's face instantly turns red again, and her pace quickens
"W-We should hurry to the office!" she stammers, trying desperately to change the subject
Kaiser watches her flustered reaction with amusement, unable to suppress a laugh. He follows after her, his eyes sparkling with interest
The two continue walking down the hallway, their footsteps echoing in unison as they head toward the student administration office
