Chapter 5: Predicament!

Ken found himself in the middle of a predicament, as a single mistake would cost him his life.

He couldn't go through this with a simple mind; thus, he activated his powers.

*Fwshh*

The young man felt his brain go on overload while trying to think of any solution to this predicament, but he didn't have to think long before he came across a good one.

It was simple; if not for the unrest he was feeling, he would have managed to come upon it without his powers.

'Remember.' surprised that his power could even make him calm himself in a dangerous situation, Ken left this thought be digged upon later and concentrated on the dilemma at hand.

The solution to this problem was, obviously, to change his voice.

If one had control over his voice, he could change it however he wanted; thus, it was a skill that could be learned.

And for someone who had the ability to immediately learn something...

"Aye, brother, ya're scaring the hell outta me. Say something alrea- wait... don't tell me..." The guard suddenly stopped and looked directly at Ken.

'Did he? no, there's no way' Being in the situation he was in, Ken got suspicious and worried that the guard might have guessed that something would happen, but there was no way such a thing could possibly happen.

So he returned to focus on something. The throat of the man in front of him.

"Did you leak yarself?" The second the man said that, a light almost shone on Ken's abyssal eyes as he shouted in his mind.

'I understand it now!'

Bringing his arms closer to his throat, he adjusted it a bit and coughed before he got up and hit the head of his crewmate.

"What are ya saying, fishhead? I was just reminiscing about the oath."

"Ah, I get it. still not over that red head, are ya? Don't worry, boss. It happens to the best of us." the crewmate said while snickering.

"Shut up." Ken said as he walked out of the door.

Seeing him, the guard didn't stop him from thinking that he also wanted to go do his business.

'Pheww.' Breathing out a sigh of relief, Ken was more than relieved that he had gotten out of the predicament at hand.

Now that this happened, he was sure he would be safe from any danger for a good time.

Looking ahead of him, the first that greeted him was a corridor so large it made his eyes dilate.

It was dark, but not as dark as the room he had just gotten out of. Being only lit up by torches and treasures meant that he could see nearly shit.

Ken's heart started to beat.

Why do you say? because aside from the large corridor, the countless eyes of the gyards who had all turned to look at him unison almost frightened the soul of him.

Having just killed one of them, he didn't think much of it, but they sure were battle-hardened soldiers though and through.

Each one of them has taken the lives of hunderds of marines, pirates, and even weak villagers who couldn't defend themselves.

Still, they were all mortals, not on the level of the unbeatable legends who shook the entire world of One Piece.

Had it been any of those guys or the even just the stronger individuals of this crew, let alone kill one, they would dig him out from whatever hiding spot before he could even know what was happening.

Ken gulped down and started walking confidently, activating his power just for a split second, allowing himself to get back his bearing.

"Business?" The first guard he walked in front of asked.

"Aye." Having been in this ship for so long, he kind of started absorbing their way of talking and acting.

Not to mention that with his power, it was a simple question of observing.

That was why he wasn't worried. From now on, it was a surefire plan to escape.

Walking to the end of the corridor, he turned right and continued walking till he started smelling a horrid smell.

Even with their dumps going down to the ocean, the remnants that hadn't been cleaned saved the clueless Ken from wandering aimlessly and being doubted.

"Well, that came in handy." He said, but in all honesty, he wasn't going to the bathroom. He had his own afterall.

How did you think he lived for so long?

Thus, he walked and walked, going around the ship wherever he could and remembering the path he came from.

Guards were looking at him strangely but didn't speak to him, only standing in front of their specific rooms or walking through the corridor.

That was until he met with one of those he absolutely didn't want to meet.

When you see an entire crew wearing a unified uniform, what does it mean for a man looking much more untimidating than all others and holding a sword that screamed treasure on his waist?

It only meant one thing... and it rhymed with fortune.
