"Tabby! We are finally going to the academy where we turn into higher life forms! Can you believe it?!" exclaimed Sistine, looking at the magnificent view; picturesque forests, no human-made things, just nature, which was Sistine's favourite thing to gaze upon.Â
"Yes. I know, we are both now twelve so we can attend." replied Tabby, in a purposefully uninterested and tired tone, despite actually being ecstatic to go there.Â
"Come on! Be more enthusiastic! I waited for---four years to get into this academy! And we are right now on the trip there with a half golden and half reddened titanium carriage!" ushered Sistine.Â
"Come on now, we are going to probably get a random bad teacher that teaches us nothing like that manga you just started. Akashic Records of the Bastard Magic Instructor, was it?" replied Tabby, still pretending to be bored.Â
"Don't insult the manga! It is the best manga I have ever read so far! Only tailing behind The Blood Princess and The Knight! That is saying something." defended Sistine, angrily.Â
"No one asked. Now just shut up and enjoy the damn view outside," said Tabby, "It is actually pretty outside, for once." said Tabby, rarely saying something nice.Â
Hearing this, Sistine prompted, "Can you repeat that? I did not q-w-uite cat-w-ch that!" said Sistine, in her best "uwu" voice. The purpose of that was just to get to hear the compliment again, but alas, Tabby fell asleep... or did she? Sistine was not sure, so she just started to sleep herself.Â

As Sistine and Tabby woke up, they were amazed by the magnificent view of the outskirts of the academy. There were many different small cottages with straw roofs, wooden supports and stone brick foundations, of all sizes. There was a forest full of tall trees, and the leaves looked like the top of the spade card in a deck of cards.Â
However, the main attraction of it all was of course the gargantuan stone brick walls, which were cracked with age, with vines growing all throughout in the abundant cracks. The vast expanse of the plains that the castle covered was jaw dropping.Â
"Tabby! Look at the big castle over there! That is where we are going to study for the next six years, I think! Look at how cool it is!" exclaimed Sistine.Â
"Yes! I know, it looks so cool! I cannot wait to go inside and see all the classes, good and evil! It is so cool, even cooler than how our parents described it!" replied Tabby, finally getting rid of her temporary 'cool' and 'I don't care' personality, revealing her true nature; how excited she was all this time. Of course, Sistine has seen many of these personality changes that Tabby has gone through; thus, she was not surprised at her reaction after hearing her being excited at this event.Â
The castle that they were completely transfixed on was like the exact replica of what a perfect castle looks like; a bit rustic but not too much, a hint of being yellowed and coloured with age, but barely noticeable, a massive sturdy wooden gate that can only be opened on one side, the inside. There was also a moat, with Sistine's estimate of being two hundred metres in length, and fifty metres deep. There were four watchtowers, one on each corner of the castle, with a robust roof made from stone roof tiles, which had been painted gold.Â
Sistine pondered if solid gold tiles were too expensive, but seeing as the gate was secured by diamond plating instead of steel, Sistine had decided that it was solid gold, as such an academy cannot be a poor desolate area where misers had lived. However, Sistine had still got an open mind about what the interior would be like; as she was often told not to judge a book by its cover.Â
Sistine turned around and wanted to see if she could strike a conversation with Tabby about what race she would want to hopefully become; an angel or demon, of one of the subcategories, however, Tabby already fell asleep again from tiredness and fatigue of preparing what she can do at the opening ceremony where the higher ups decide what race they would be transformed into, leaving behind "the old, trash, useless, bad, dumb race of the humans," as the headmaster of the academy had said. Sistine did not agree with this as all the students were once human and should have some dignity about their old race. However, this was not the case for many, but Sistine silently rebelled and promised herself that she would still have humanity once she was turned, hopefully, into an angel, but she wouldn't mind if she was chosen to become a demon, but she would be a teeny tiny bit sad, of course, being deemed evil.Â
Sistine hoped that she would be destined to become an angel, and serve whoever. She knew that she would most likely be an ambassador for the first few years, then go higher in the ranks to eventually become a disciple of God; but only then will she believe in God, because Sistine believed that if God was real, and merciful, for that matter, why did God not help with the Black Plague and other deadly diseases? She wanted to believe in God, but of course God did not descend, nor did any angels, nor did Jesus himself; only science had helped to cure this treacherous time period of homo sapiens. Thus why she pledged to remain as an atheist until she had actually become an angel.Â
Sistine knew that if she was atheist, even for now, that she would most likely be chosen to be a devil or demon instead due to her believing not in God but in science. She knew this, but she hoped that her honesty in believing in science instead of believing in God, being very clear, would enable her to convince the higher ups to grant her a chance to reconsider who to believe in and hopefully find the secrets of the universe or something in doing so. (Ok, she knew that she was unable to find the secrets of the universe, or where the matter goes to when being absorbed into a black hole, but still.)Â
Sistine was now getting quite tired now and fell started to fall asleep next to Tabby, who was in dreamland ages ago, probably flying as an angel already in her dreams, something that Tabby told her multiple times, and dreaming about how she beat the devils and demons.Â
Sistine had once asked what Tabby would do if she happened to become a demoness or devil, but Tabby did not respond to this particular question. So she assumed that Tabby was not ready for such a question, or the latter; Tabby betraying her friendship and family bonds with Sistine and killing her or dementing her and torturing her for the "greater good," which usually happened to demons. Or eternal damnation to hell or something. She hoped it was the former option, not the latter, but she would be able to endure it as long as Tabby was the one torturing her. She was quite a big masochist when it comes to pain by loved ones or friends. With the previous thought, Sistine realised she was not sure if eternal damnation to hell was a thing, as she had never read the Bible, but Tabby did. So most likely Tabby would become an angel and serve God, and she would be, as usual, the unlucky one and become a demoness, and be tortured for eternity; but she would get accustomed to it, she was sure, because she was a masochist after all. But she would not want that to actually happen.Â
Sistine had fell asleep now, tired of thinking up thousands upon thousands of possibilities of what could happen if she was cursed to become a demoness. She would enjoy the new possibilities of being evil and stuff, but she was too tired to think more about such a matter.Â
***Â
Sistine was dreaming about what she had been thinking of before, about what Tabby would do to her if she was transformed into a demoness. She observed Tabby being chosen to be an angel, and she smiled at her, happy for Tabby. Unfortunately, when it was her turn, which coincidentally was right after Tabby's turn, she was chosen to become a demon. Thus, making her the first demoness in history, as they were no other females who were sorted into the demon section, which meant that she had sinned a lot. All the other females who were sorted into the main category was in the devil subcategory, which meant they were, instead of being evil, just wanted to use their boyfriends, abuse them, or whatnot, if they really did have a boyfriend at this age. So, she was surrounded by many, many males who looked like they should be in juvenile detention, the army to be more obedient. There were a group of boys who looked like they were thugs, with all the tattoos of skulls and other disturbing things they had on their arms, and the list of people who should be in hell continued. The first thing that Sistine thought was, I do not belong here. Or maybe she does, she probably doesn't know it yet. She thought of acting like a siren, but that would not fool anyone; instead of wrecking havoc in a war against the angels, she would probably get bullied by her allies, the demons and devils, and freely given to the angels as a hostage that was unneeded. Sistine shuddered at the thought, but she was given the angels as compensation for their previous terrifying deeds as soon as the transformation ended, and she was officially a demoness. The demons had said that it was their reconciliation with the angels, which was a guise to their actual plan; so none of them will get tortured. The other demons just had to throw the new demoness under the bus, so they could get away unscathed. She would have done the same thing, which she realised was probably why she was transformed into a demon and Tabby was not.Â
She was dragged to a cross, which precisely was the one where Jesus had died on, apparently, and came back to life. Her hands were tied to each side of the horizontal wooden block of the cross, which had hurt a lot, so immensely that she did not even feel any pain when they had used rope to tie her legs down at the closest point to the bottom of the cross but not quite. Of course, she would be dead if she was not a demoness right now, but honestly, she would have preferred to die, as she imagined that hell would not be as painful, but she never knew; so she was happy with what she had got.Â
The angel who tied her up had turned out to be Tabby, as she was the newest angel, and she had to prove her loyalty to God, so she was unable to do anything to save her, but of course, Tabby was only taken in after her entire family was killed by some terrorists, so she had no blood connection with Sistine, so it did not matter what she did, but the betrayal hurt a lot, after all the happy memories that they had made together. She was just starting to get used to the pain when Tabby, or perhaps St. Tabby, she was unsure, had come back, with some nails.Â
Sistine was unsure about what they were for, but did not ask that; she instead wanted freedom, like anything or anyone who is trapped or taken in as hostage. So she asked Tabby, (she decided St. Tabby was too much, even for her.) "Can you untie me? I do not deserve this, I think." she said, in a pleading voice, with a wince right on cue. However, instead of sounding like she was a good demoness, which she realised did not sound realistic at all, she sounded like an evil, cunning and plotting demoness who did not care what happened to useless lower ranked angels; Sistine had realised that because she had turned into a demoness, her voice had automatically altered into a voice similar to a siren's voice, all nice sounding until the siren backstabs you and kills you. Which was exactly what Sistine sounded like right now. So she shut up, and tried her best to embrace the pain, which was what she honestly deserved after sounding that way to Tabby. So she screamed as quietly as she could, as the nails had secured her legs and hands to the cross, for Tabby's benefit. However, Tabby seemed like she was enjoying herself, instead of shedding tears and hiding them, like she wanted Tabby to do; but that was selfish, Sistine declared, but Tabby enjoying starting the torturing process was also concerning, so she no longer tried to hold back her screams of pain, still only somewhat prepared to serve as an example of what a demoness who got caught would suffer, for eternity, as demonesses and demons cannot die.Â
Tabby continued the torture process that the angels had made; something Sistine thought that angels would not do; because they believe in good and all that, but it was probably under the excuse of "it is for the greater good" or some random shit or something. So after her hands and legs are secured with one nail each, each fingernail and toenail had suffered the same fate; it had hurt a lot, as you can easily imagine. Sistine screamed a lot, with the cruel angels enjoying her pain that she was suffering, but Sistine had rebelled to such things. She started to enjoy this pain, partially because Tabby was, most likely, brainwashed into doing this, but she did not mind anymore, and much more because she was actually a very big masochist who liked pain from her friends and family. Then, major parts of her body, which was in a shape of a human, of course, was pinned down by rock hard nails, with blood pouring out from all sides. But of course, a demoness's blood would just regenerate in much faster time than it would take for her to die by a thousand cuts. It hurt much more than just the nails piercing the skin, as blood flowing had amplified the pain, apparently.Â
The amount of blood that was outside of Sistine's body was quite concerning, if it wasn't for the fact that she was a demoness. If she wasn't a demoness or unaware of that fact, she would have thought she had infinite blood. She technically has infinite blood right now, though. Anyway, if she was a human, the amount of blood leaked would be so much that anyone who looked would be flabbergasted â it was that concerning. The amount of blood she had leaked out was equal to or more than a tier ten flood.Â
Sistine was getting used to the pain again, and the angels, who heard less screams, had gotten the vampire clan, or more commonly called, the blood clan, to join in on tormenting her. In fact, because she was the first demoness and she was special, her blood was apparently a delicacy to vampires.Â
In fact, only very rich and royal vampires came to suck her blood everyday. The pain was impossible to get used to, because of the fact that they were told to bite her in a way no one could expect and without the calming sensation one would usually get, which made hunting easier, as the prey was calm and had a boost in well-being while being killed. But that was not evident in this case, of course, because they were instructed to.Â
Later on, the cruel, and Sistine had said, "I daresay, evil angels," had gotten the good idea of getting all the youkai (monsters) to feast on her extravagant blood and meat, everyday, at random moments. Sistine had finally gave up on hope and as the years had passed, she grew more and more desensitized to pain than ever. And the angels had stopped tormenting her, even, but she was so desensitized to pain, that she was actively seeking it, and thus, she had never tried to escape the cross. And Sistine had thought, I realise that IÂ had become the demons' and demonesses' nightmare. Being so desensitized to pain that I actively sought after it. Ah, but I gave up hope, there is no point in escaping anyway, as I am bound to be caught. And the angels' plan had worked, and it stricken terror to every demon and demoness to come. The ultimate horror and nightmare for the demons and any demoness's.Â
Sistine had realised she was desperately wanting to believe in God to the point she had started praying, which was against her instinct as a demoness, which sole purpose was to dissuade one from believing in God.Â
"Please, God, hear my prayer. Please release me from this hell of tormenting and make me a free demoness who does good things. Please. I promise. I will not do any bad things; it has been more than one millennium, and I want to change for the better. Please hear me, God; I even started believing in you after enduring so much pain."Â
Sistine did not act; she had genuinely believed in God now, after so many years of torture and pain. So, she did not go back on her word and patiently waited. She was then free from the cross after five short minutes. She was very thankful to God and even hugged Tabby, who was the angel forced to torture Sistine. Little did Sistine know, that prayer had been recorded, as everything in the room of the cross was recorded and sent to the angels and the demons likewise. After hearing this from Tabby, Sistine blushed fire engine red but did not go back on her word.Â
The demons, devils and demonesses (if there is any, Sistine did not know) was all shocked at this experience of someone on the evil side pledging allegiance to the good side, thus betraying their race. This phenomenon was now a subcategory in the academy; the "demonized angels," where a demon or demoness had become good, and the vice versa was named "corrupted angels," where angels had become evil.Â
