I walked to my closet, opening the doors and trying to find some decent clothes.
«Honey! Are you awake?» my mother screamed.
«Yes, mom! I'll be there in a minute!» i yelled back.
When I finally found some clothes and put them on, I went down the stairs carrying my backpack on my shoulders.
«Are you hungry?» my mother asked with a sweet smile on her face.
«No, but thanks mom.»
She just nodded, but though she gave me a sandwich wrapped in a napkin.
I noticed her eyes narrowing when she looked down at my neck, the necklace my grandma give me still there.
That pendant.
My mother always looked at it badly and I didn't knew why.
«That pendant your grandma gave you,» she started, «is cursed».
«Is what?!» I looked at her with wide eyes.
«You heard me right.» she cut it short.
«How- How is it even possible? We're not in a fairy-tale world.»
«That world is not necessary. But pendants like this were very popular in your grandmother's time. She always wore one, hiding it.» she replied.
«How... it works or what it does?» i asked, dumbfounded.
«It can be kill people by give them a heart attack just by standing in front of them with the pendant uncovered.»
Everything makes sense now. This pendant is dangerous for me and others.
