Chapter 1.

Sophia turned to look up from the creeky bed she had been lying down in all night.From outside she could hear her uncle mumur to himself while sobbing silently.She reached for the lamp beside her bed and turned it in while straining her ears to hear what the man outside was saying.Instead she heard the voice of another lady who she did not even know was there.

"What do you plan on doing"?

By this time,she had already come outside to go to the bathroom.The house was beginning to look like a shadow of it's past self.It was going to be difficult explaining to an outsider that that place used to be one of the centres of attraction in their home city keffi.Most of the attractive items there had already been sold out at ridiculous prices.

"I have to find an investor who would be willing to put in his cash to an already failing company.Its going to be very difficult since the news of our near bankruptcy is already out to the press"He wiped his face and tried to smile.

Men don't cry anyway.

"By tomorrow,I would finalize selling off the company to young master Damian kidash,CEO of deleganza.After that, I would use the proceeds to pay off my debts and finally resign to fate"

Sophia stood outside with her brush in her hands listening silently.She was in a very good position to help but some things are better left undone.She knew the dangers of exposing herself to the public in that manner.

"But it's worth it, your uncle took you in when everybody rejected you"her angel side spoke up.

She sighed then went back to the bathroom still deep in thoughts... Hours later she was ready to go all dressed up in the clothes she "claimed" to afford.

"Uncle k,I am stepping out.I won't be late no worries".

Uncle k looked at her and smiled.

At least,she was his one last consolation in the world.

"Don't be long my dear"
