Chapter 11: System Task Rules and a Disciple's Visit

There was a clear time interval between tasks.

Or perhaps the degree of "oppression, insult, and disdain" from these individuals was too low, and You Chen's "comeback" intensity was insufficient. These tasks were, in essence, the system's "basic welfare."

It's not that a task can only be triggered once a month, but rather that there is at least one task every month as a minimum guarantee.

After all, these "comebacks" were relatively minor compared to those of some novel protagonists; never did they escalate to life-and-death situations — which is reasonable, as nine or ten-year-olds being so ruthless would be unacceptable, even by the precocious standards of spirit masters, and would have quickly led to them being seen as potential rogue spirit masters.

This was You Chen's speculation.

However, if no one provoked You Chen, the system wouldn't fabricate a task out of thin air. There had to be a "conflict" for even the basic task to trigger.

Thus, in some peaceful months, no tasks were triggered.

He tentatively listed this "basic welfare" as the system's second rule.

As for the third rule, tasks could be abandoned.

This could be inferred from the "non-abandonable" nature of the novice task.

Over these ten days, the system issued tasks spanning over two years, targeting "classmates and seniors who looked down on him," "teachers who thought he had no future," and "girls who supposedly considered him ugly"...

Despite You Chen inviting as many conceivable candidates as possible, there were still some omissions or individuals not near Spirit City.

Some of them even had their graves covered with grass three feet high.

Among these tasks, the way to "come back" wasn't limited to "fighting."

For those teachers who underestimated him, it was about "showcasing his ability and standing tall," whereas for the female spirit masters who looked down on him... well, now You Chen simply had to walk past them to complete the task.

While You Chen was harvesting system tasks, an unexpected visitor arrived.

The arrival of an uninvited guest was anticipated by You Chen.

He had been creating quite a stir, with people coming and going from his manor villa during this period.

Anyone paying attention would have noticed the activity.

However, the identity of the visitor was slightly unexpected for You Chen.

It was during the seventh day of the banquet.

You Chen was discussing theory with the teacher who first taught him about martial spirits when Grace approached him quietly.

Amidst the puzzled looks from the middle-aged teacher and some guests, Grace whispered a few words to You Chen, causing him to frown slightly.

"Do you have urgent business, You Chen? If you do, go ahead and take care of it. Even without you leading us, we're not completely clueless about what to do," the middle-aged teacher said with a playful concern.

During this time, the teacher had noticed how diligent and capable Grace was and knew she wouldn't disturb the master's banquet unless it was truly necessary.

He kindly offered You Chen an excuse to step away.

But unfortunately, this tactful gesture was likely unnecessary...

"You Chen, are you planning something mischievous again!?"

A crisp voice of scolding came from the main entrance of the banquet hall.

A girl with shoulder-length golden hair and a white dress walked in, her face filled with righteous indignation.

Though still quite young, just over ten, her future allure was evident.

Even now, the simple yet elegant dress highlighted her figure beyond her years.

"Hold on, Nana! You're barging in like this, completely undermining the teacher! Why are you so impulsive!"

Behind her were two slightly older boys, trailing closely.

One had silver hair, wearing a robe matching his hair color, with features similar to the golden-haired girl's — both charming and handsome.

The other had fiery red hair, dressed in simple shorts and a T-shirt, stocky and plain-looking yet sturdy.

Both wore expressions of urgency and helplessness; it was the red-haired, burly boy who spoke to restrain her.

Seeing these three uninvited guests, many of the guests present showed displeasure.

Yet, some, after frowning and observing for a few seconds, slightly widened their eyes, seemingly recognizing the identities of the three young arrivals.

But before these guests could offer a reminder, someone scolded, "Where do these rude children come from? Don't you know a banquet and social gathering is happening here? How dare you trespass against the host's wishes?"

A friend of the person who spoke, seeing the rebuke, withdrew the hand they intended to use to stop them.

"Hmm?"

The golden-haired girl raised her eyebrows, glaring angrily at the guest, full of defiance. Upon seeing the familiar yellow attire, she sneered, "Just a yellow-clad deacon... Do you dare take the place of my teacher to lecture me?"

Seeing the yellow-clad deacon about to fall into the trap set by the golden-haired girl, You Chen finally spoke up.

He said coldly, "Hu Liena, what do you mean by 'just a yellow-clad deacon'? It is these numerous deacons, tirelessly executing important duties, that make the Spirit Hall what it is! Do you think that just because you enjoy the Pope's favor, you can look down on our Spirit Hall's grassroots members?"

Hu Liena, the Pope...

Mentioning these keywords made the origins of the trio apparent.

They were none other than the Golden Generation of the Spirit Hall.

The yellow-clad deacon, who was about to argue back, widened his eyes upon hearing these words, realizing what he had just done. He inhaled sharply, showing gratitude towards You Chen for intervening.

As for You Chen, he wasn't performing for the yellow-clad deacon or other guests' favor.

He simply wanted to prevent them from fearing Hu Liena or Bibi Dong and leaving, which could impact his tasks, hence he took on the role of drawing attention to himself.

"Don't try to pressure me with things I don't understand!"

Hu Liena wrinkled her nose, searching for words to refute You Chen, but...

Ultimately, having received no formal education, she couldn't think of a rebuttal and instead chose to throw a tantrum.

Many present, observing Hu Liena's behavior, had a faint trace of disdain in their eyes.

'So this is the Pope's personal disciple? She doesn't seem very bright.'

Many secretly criticized, unwilling to voice it but unable to refrain from internal complaints.

"Cough, cough."

The robust Yan coughed, stepping forward to stand before Hu Liena, bowing apologetically to You Chen: "Teacher, I couldn't stop Nana, and she barged in, even knocking out a few servants..."
