WuYan threw away the decapitated goblin head and found a small crude spear on the floor that belonged to the creature. He picked it up and upon inspecting it on closer look, the spear was poorly made of a thin wooden stick while the tip was tied with just a sharpened stone.
"Well, although small and crude, it's best to make use of anything we find." WuYan told himself as he took the crude weapon for later use.
After collecting the spear and a lit torch from the creature, WuYan then picks up his pace and continues to run deeper into the cave with the voice as guidance. While on route and further deeper into the cave, he also meets few of the same creatures patrolling the area but fortunately for him, all of them are alone. This provides him a perfect opportunity to kill them swiftly and silently to avoid drawing any unwanted attention but the questions inside him also grow as well.
"Why do they work alone? I thought they usually work in a group or at least in pairs?." WuYan questioned.
'May I remind you that I could hear your thoughts and questions?' She warned.
'Hmm, you are still hearing whatever I said in my mind?.' He asked.
'Yes but rest assured once you find and fuse with me, I can switch our telepathy communication to on or off. But for now, please bear with me for a moment as I won't turn it off since tracking you again will consume power for such an unnecessary task. Also, we have ten minutes left.' She reminded him again about the remaining time.
WuYan chose to not reply and continued to focus on his run as he went deeper into the dark cave. As he descended further into the dark filled cavern with only a lit torch and her voice as guidance, he finally arrived at an empty dead end room. With the light from the fire-lit torch on his hand, he began to search the room for any clues or devices.
"A dead end, no visible path sighted nearby." WuYan explained what he found. .
'No, you are standing just right in front of the entrance. The door was hidden with a camouflage technology to avoid any creatures damaging the door and barge into the room. Now, on your left and place your metal hand on the wall, I will use it to disable the tech and unlock it.' She explained and instructed WuYan to follow her steps.
WuYan listened and placed his right hand on the wall. A red light glows beneath his palm then turns green along with a few system beeping sounds. The illusion on the wall suddenly flickered for a short moment and eventually disappeared, revealing a gray metal door with multiple metal pistons on both sides and started to move on its own to unlock the door.
The sound of high pressure gas releasing from the metal pistons echoed throughout the cave systems. Along with rusty and metals hitting noise when the metal door opens by sliding itself to the side had alerted the other creatures in the cave. Not far from him, WuYan began to hear lots of footsteps and is only getting louder as the groups of goblins are coming, running to him.
'Sonar detected multiple units approaching. Get inside so I could close the door and re-initiate the camouflage tech.' She instructed WuYan when her sonar techniques detected the incoming goblins.
WuYan heeds her advice and quickly enters the dark room beyond the door. Hearing the metal pistons on the door acting again, he looked back and saw it had slides back and closed the entrance. Although the metal door was completely sealed off to block the goblins' advance, his route back to the surface was shut tight. Stuck inside a new but foreign area, he had no choice but to proceed carefully to venture into the dark room with only a lit-torch on his hand.
'Powering up lights. Warning, power reserve is low. Estimated time until full shutdown- ten minutes.'
With the door shut after the pistons had stopped moving, lights were suddenly switched in the facilities. Through the loudspeakers on each corner in the room, a robotic voice but with a deep male tone announced that the facilities are in lower power and will soon cease any ongoing operation in ten minutes.
The sudden bright light shone from the top had taken him off guard and he had to use his forearm to cover his eyes until adjusted to the light. After his eyes were adjusted to it and felt comfortable, he put down his arm and was immediately in awe of his surroundings.
WuYan is currently standing in a corridor that's both twenty meters tall and wide. Everything around him is made of alloys but some of it was partially covered in rust, thus making the air around him unsuitable to breathe in. Luckily, he still had his nose and mouth covered with handkerchiefs stuffed with flowers, he adjusted it to be more firm on his face with his sleeves so that he could breathe in more fragrant air instead of toxic rusts.
'I had powered up the lights for you but that means I am also using more energy right now. We don't have much time left.'
After listening to her voice in his mind, urging him to move again out of fear that the energy will run out faster than she calculated after switching on the lights, WuYan can't rest but to continue his run toward the destination point led by the voice. While on the way to the room where the voice says she was located, he also found lots of unidentified broken metal parts and scraps that looked like they belonged to robots or machines.
'I know you have lots of questions right now but the power reserve is almost running out. I promise I will provide you answers for all of your questions once I fuse with you.'
Although her voice is robotic and monotonous, after all those times interacted with her in this journey, WuYan could feel that she had become more worried and in a panic just by judging the words chosen in her sentence's composition.
WuYan held onto her words after she had promised to answer all of his questions and continued to run at full speed without stopping. Following her guide, he finally arrived at the front of a large metal door and was instructed to place his mechanical hand on the door. Repeating the same procedure again, the pistons within the inches-thick, large metal door moved and opened an entrance to him.
Upon entering an abandoned room that looked like a bridge sector, WuYan was surprised as everything in his surroundings looked straight out from a futuristic sci-fi spaceship but all of it was damaged and dust covered. Not only were the floors coated with black soot, it was also cluttered with scrap metals. Burnt wires sprung out from panels of metal walls had made the whole surroundings look so dreadful and lonely as there's nothing to interact.
That's it until WuYan saw a large cylindrical pod on his right. Inside it, he saw a semi-naked human female look alike, seemingly sleeping in a standing posture. He walked toward the pod to get a closer observation of her. She has a black-colored, short bob hairstyle while her face is gifted with seductive full lips and straight nose. Although her skin color is gray with metallic finish, her overall unique appearance gives her an appearance of a rare beauty.
Her body is voluptuous and is almost the same height as him. The skintight black fabric covered her curvaceous body from the shoulder till the thighs. Interestingly, the black fabric and her gray skin also repeatedly radiate in white with odd patterned lines that had WuYan to think about her with curiosity.
"So, I am assuming that's you? That's….quite a…beautiful face you got." WuYan's words stuttered but eventually ended praising her with a smug face that made him not very gentleman-like, possibly thinking of something dirty.
'Thank You for the compliment. I will now open the glass pod and all you need to do is place your mechanical hand on the diamond that is imbued into my forehead. Keep in mind that there won't be any connection if you place your hand on other parts of my body such as the chest or anywhere else.' She reminded WuYan with sarcasm.
"Geez, thanks for that reminder"
After listening to her instructions and description about himself, WuYan felt disappointed and replied with a gloomy tone. The glass on the pod was slid inward to the left by her command, removing the transparent barrier between her body and him. WuYan then stepped into the pod to get closer to her body and after taking a few deep breaths, he then placed his mechanical hand on her forehead.
'I will handle all of the transferring process.' She said
Now transferring data and consciousness. Estimated time to completion- one minute."
The female body started to glow brightly with stripes of white lights then dimmed and in repeat. At first, WuYan felt a gentle heat flowing into his metal arm but after a while, the heat became too hot for him to handle. He tried to pull his hand away from her but failed as it was latched onto her forehead like a high-powered magnet.
The white light stripes on her body suddenly shine so bright that it had temporarily blinded his eyes. Faint visions appeared in his mind as he saw a series of fearsome events. He saw a devastating war happen between a race of machines against the union of humans, elves, dwarves and others.
Situations are bleak for the unions because with one machine destroyed, another hundreds more units were quickly mass assembled and immediately dispatched onto the battlefields. This unfair advantage had caused the unions billions of mortal casualties. In the end, they couldn't keep up with it, their numbers dwindled quickly till they needed to hide from the machine's massacre.
The vision suddenly shifted up to the sky, its color changed from orange dawn to golden lights, WuYan is now looking at a giant godlike entity. However, other than its body possessed humanoid shape, the entity face is made of shaded mirror with its body made of shining silver metals and golden wires glowing on each of its joints. It put its arms crossed on its chest and a giant colorful halo ring was summoned behind its back, radiating bright light at him. The entity did not utter a single word but the mirror on its face had changed into something that startled him.
The mirror displayed WuYan's face and despite it's only a vision, it found his trace and was looking right at him with a terrifying sinister smile.
'Hey! Wake up! Are you alright?'
This time, WuYan heard a rather mellow female voice tone. He immediately remembered all of these are just a dream, the vision was shattered and he was pulled back from the dream to reality. WuYan slowly opened his eyes and found himself lying on the ground while the room was tinted in red emergency lights. He got up from the floor carefully and slowly while trying to process what he saw in his dream.
'Thank You. I finally managed to completely fuse my data and my consciousness into your body before the main power went out. Thanks again for saving me so I could continue to live.' She thanked WuYan repeatedly for his efforts.
"Alright, now you can talk in a normal feminine tone but I can't hold my questions anymore and desperately need answers. Those machines, these rooms and most importantly, what are you?"
WuYan couldn't hold back the urge to seek answers anymore and questioned her in seriousness.
'As promised and to answer your question. My given designation is Anti Divinity/Demonic Agent or as my creators also refer to me as A.D.A. Currently, without my body, I am just a system that aids in annihilating the divines, devils and their creations of this world to harvest their energy.'
Although her voice is mellow, Ada answered his question like a stone-cold killer. WuYan was at a loss for words upon hearing Ada introduce herself. His feeling is complicated because right now, he feels joy that he's able to live longer after fusing with her consciousness into his body. However, after hearing her full name and listening to her objectives, he also felt bizarre at the same time.
"HA! Now what kind of apocalyptic thing did I just bring into this world?"
WuYan tries to make fun of himself to cope with what he has listened to.
