Chapter 19 - Ch 19

DAMIEN'S POV

A few days later...

I knew Lily couldn't resist me much longer. Her walls had been crumbling, piece by piece, with every touch, every glance, every whispered word. She was close now, so close I could practically taste her surrender in the air between us. And tonight, I planned to make sure she understood exactly where she belonged.

I commanded her to be at my office for lunch, the only place where I could be free from the world and its prying eyes. The door clicked shut behind us, sealing us into our private little world. I didn't even need to look at her to feel the electricity crackling between us, charging the space.

"Damien…" Lily's voice trembled as she glanced around the room, but I could see the desire flickering in her eyes. She was just as ready as I was.

I didn't waste a moment. I moved toward her, closing the distance in two long strides. My hands found her waist, pulling her against me as her body seemed to melt into mine. She gasped, her breath shallow, and I smirked at the sound. It was a sound I'd grown addicted to—the sound of her losing control, of her losing herself in me.

I leaned in, my lips grazing the soft skin of her neck, tasting the warmth of her pulse under my mouth. "Lily," I whispered, my voice rough. "you look beautiful".

She didn't respond with words, but her hands slid up my chest, pulling me closer. She wasn't fighting it anymore. She was lost in me, in the darkness of this connection we had.

Her lips met mine in a kiss that was fierce and consuming, and I responded with equal intensity. We fell back on the couch and She straddled me, her legs wrapping around my waist as she sunk into me, every inch of her body pressing against mine. The heat between us intensified, her hands clutching at my shirt, pulling me even closer. Her mouth parted beneath mine, inviting me deeper.

I could feel the power shift. She was giving herself to me completely now. No hesitation. No resistance. She was mine, and that fact sent a thrill through me like nothing else. My hands moved to her back, tracing the curves of her body, pulling her tighter to me as the kiss deepened. The need between us was undeniable, but I wasn't about to let her take the lead. Not yet.

I pulled away just enough to look at her. Her eyes were heavy-lidded, flushed with desire, but there was something else there too—fear. Fear that she was losing herself to me, fear that she couldn't stop this even if she wanted to. I smiled at the thought, savoring the power that surged through me.

"Lily," I whispered, my voice dark, "say you're mine."

Before she could respond, the sound of footsteps reached my ears. It was faint at first, but unmistakable. Someone was coming.

"Damien…" Lily's voice wavered, her hands slipping from my chest. She tried to pull away, but I wasn't ready to let go. Not yet.

The door to my office swung open, and I didn't have time to react before Caleb stepped inside, his gaze immediately locking on us.

For a split second, time seemed to stop. Caleb stood there, his eyes wide with shock, his expression one of disbelief and something much darker—jealousy. His jaw clenched as his eyes darted between Lily, straddling me, and me, holding her close, our bodies pressed together. The tension in the room thickened, a suffocating weight that threatened to choke us all.

Lily scrambled off me, stumbling slightly as she tried to straighten herself, her face flushed with embarrassment, but I could see the confusion and hurt in her eyes. She wasn't the only one who was thrown off by this sudden intrusion. Caleb looked like he'd just been slapped.

"What the hell is this?" Caleb's voice was low, dangerous, filled with a mixture of disbelief and rage. His eyes were locked on me now, but I could feel the heat of his anger radiating off of him.

I stood up slowly, brushing myself off as I met Caleb's gaze, unflinching. There was no hiding what had just happened. No denying the truth now.

"Isn't it obvious?" I said coolly, my voice unwavering despite the storm brewing between us. "I think it's time you stopped pretending she still wants you, Caleb."

Lily's eyes widened, and I could see the guilt flicker in them, but it didn't matter. She had chosen. She had made her decision.

Caleb's expression twisted, his fists clenched at his sides as if he were fighting the urge to do something drastic. "You—" His voice cracked with anger. "You've been with her all this time? You're my brother. What the hell is wrong with you?"

I took a step forward, my gaze never leaving Caleb's. "You had your chance, brother. You had her. But you couldn't even see her, could you? You never understood her the way I do."

His face contorted with a mix of disbelief and rage, and I could tell he was fighting to keep himself under control. "You—" His voice was tight with fury. "Damien, she's my ex. I loved her, you bastard. And you just… you just took her from me? What the hell kind of brother are you?"

I didn't flinch. I didn't even hesitate. "The kind of brother who gets what he wants," I replied, my tone cold and final. "And right now, I want her."

Lily looked between the two of us, her face a mixture of confusion, guilt, and something else—fear. She was caught in the middle, and I could see it was tearing her apart. But I wasn't about to let her go. Not now, not ever.

"Damien…" she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I can't be…"

I held up my hand, silencing her. I wasn't interested in explanations. Not from her. Not now.

Caleb's eyes narrowed as his fists clenched tighter. "You've crossed a line, Damien," he spat, his voice thick with anger. "This isn't just about Lily anymore. It's about you… and me. You've always been the one who took what I wanted, but this—this is too far."

I smirked. "You're just upset because you couldn't keep her. You never understood her, Caleb. You were always too caught up in yourself or in between another woman's legs to see what was right in front of you."

Caleb stepped forward, his chest heaving with anger. I wasn't worried. He was always all talk. But I could see the real fear in his eyes now—the fear of losing her. Of losing everything to me.

I moved toward Lily, taking her hand and pulling her to me once more, my gaze never leaving Caleb. "She's mine now. Deal with it."

And just like that, I could see the truth settle into Caleb's face. There was nothing he could do. Nothing he could say. Lily was with me, and there was no going back.

I kissed her, my lips claiming hers with a possessiveness that left no room for doubt. She was mine. And no one—especially not Caleb—was ever going to take her from me.
