It was an evening of a nice summer day.
The temperature was warm and slightly breezy. It was the ideal time for a stroll, with the sun beginning to set and the blue sky covered in orange twilight, interspersed with redish clouds that resembled mountains.
After all this time, Kanata was looking forward to a nice dinner that his father had prepared. However, even though the venue was well-known, Kanata thought his father was being far too extravagant for tonight's meal.
'Hmm! What is he thinking?' With a mutter, Kanata glanced at the busy road while he jogged light and swiftly, utterly ignoring the traffic.
'Oh love, if ****.' Kanata hummed a little song that no one else in the world knew, and a tiny smile came to his face as he recalled it from his past life.
He may have enjoyed the song because it was a little depressing, with romantic lyrics and a sense of emptiness.
At the time, he was also drowning in debt and loneliness.
So, this song hit the right spot within his heart, although later his life started to turn better with his business succeeding at the later stage; hence, he later completely forgot this song at the later stage of his life.
"Hmm! What was the restaurant name again..." Reaching the central conjecture of the roads, Kanata muttered while looking around to find the familiar figure of his father.
"Oiiii." A familiar sound of his father came.
Looking at the familiar figure of his father, who still appeared to be quite young, even at his age group, made Kanata smile.
"You are late, old man." He smiled and spoke.
"Sorry! Just got your call and came looking for you." In addition to being attractive, Kanata's father was a former baseball player who studied computer science and went on to have a prosperous career, even starting his own company.
Perhaps this explains why, following the death of Kanata's mother, he took on more work.
Kanata was doing well and began helping his father out by working and living alone until he left.
And that is when he transmigrated into this world; later it was found that he had lost most of his memories of this world, so it took time for him to get used to it.
Though common sense and things he had learned remained, the personality of real Hoshino Kanata was already dead inside him.
'But for me, who once had no family. I took the role of Kanata for myself and swore that he will cherish his family, just like he would have.'
"It's okay! Let's go, old guy. I am looking forward to the surprise." Kanata spoke as two of them left that area, jabbing at each other, looking quite happy and satisfied.
"What will we eat at this restaurant for dinner?" Kanata looked more than surprised, even the old guy quite proud about it.
"Actually! I had an important thing to talk about. So, let's just wait and talk inside the room." Hoshino Tetsuya spoke, as he tried to swallow the comment within his mind, and looked at Kanata with a serious look on his face.
"Okay! Let's go and wait. Also, don't swallow it, old man; just be open about it." Kanata's keen intuition and intellect sensed that his father was about to experience a significant event, so he logically began speaking with him while maintaining a composed expression and a smile.
Or maybe he is also going to get dragged into that event, so he wanted to make sure that his father will be open and free about it.
"You are as sharp as ever. Maybe I am overthinking it." "Hmm. The thing is that I am thinking of getting remarried again." Tatsuya looked at his son's expression, who looked rather calm about it, before ending up laughing.
"Haha! That's all. Old guy, don't worry; I had always supported you. So, I think it is really something worth celebrating about." As he patted his son's shoulder, Tatsuya's worry vanished as he noticed that Kanata's joy was beginning to impact his own mood. He also felt a little teary-eyed at his son's open-mindedness.
"What's with all that tear, old guy? Also, will she be here too? I am looking forward to seeing her, who would choose an old man like you."
"Oi... That's really disrespectful, brat." As they both bickered, two of them entered a large restaurant that was quite big and beautiful, with a design different from the earth.
"Welcome!" While entering. Kanata heard the maids, like ladies, greeting them.
Although it was not a maid cafe or anything, at higher-class society that existed in this world, having a maid and butler from the fiction existed.
"Here!" Tatsuya's tone and expression changed when he was given a simple card.
He watched his son's initial reaction to the maid, and as he had anticipated, the boy's expression changed significantly at first but quickly corrected itself.
"Hehe! Nice, right? Having maids and all." Kanata nodded at that comment, looking at the staff that had left to check the card, and two of them followed them, finally leaving for the outer perimeter, which was an open restaurant.
"Did you pay for this? I must say, you are quite the romantic type, huh?" Kanata commented.
"Hehe! Well, it is your stepmother who arranged this." Hoshino Tetsuya spoke with a little embarrassed look, as he was planning to do it.
But Aoi did it first; she was a step ahead of him, just like she had been from the college time.

After coming to this life. Kanata did not have many hobbies and even developed his own side profession as a writer when he stumbled upon idol groups.
He became enamoured with it, enjoying the upbeat songs they sang and danced to, and was drawn to the glitter that glistened all around them. As a result, he had a lengthy fan history spanning the previous two years.
As a result, while he was waiting for his stepmother and her daughter to arrive tonight, he began watching a video of a well-known idol who already had millions of fans and a devoted fan base, hoping to become the first of its kind to reach one billion.
Well, to be certain, it had already reached a few hundred million fan bases from around the globe, given the girl with silver hair had quite a family lineage, and it is said that even without the idol carrier, the girl is a noble kind from Sakura country.
Tatsuya seemed to be rather calm about it himself. As he was watching the news on his smartphone, both father and son looked completely relaxed, until Tatsuya saw the familiar figure entering the area.
"Kanata!" Tatsuya spoke. Making Kanata look up as he paused the video, but at the sight of it, he felt as if his mind was hallucinating, given the figure from the video was walking toward them.
"Wow! I am having a hallucination at this age." He muttered. Making Tatsuya scoff, bringing Kanata to the real world, as he looked at the duo and felt how real it was.
"Surprise! Old guy, I am going to break all the collected wine today." Kanata commented with a sneer on his face, making Tatsuya twitch, as he felt the emotional pain, as they really cost a lot.
"Oi, what's with that reaction? She is your favourite idol, you know." Tatsuya made a weird face as he asked his son. "That is why? I wanted you to say it before. I am totally in a common dressing code." Kanata back commented.
"Is that what you are worried about? Idiot son."
"Hah! Old man, I also know the old cellar; don't piss me off, or I will burn it all."
"Okay! I am sorry." Tatsuya was defeated against that threat. As he can't move the cellar itself, so all he could do is confide in his son's anger.
