Hello Emiya here, it is my third day in this world. Exelia as I have learnt now.
This morning was basically the same, woke up, I ate some food and took a bath, I have been wearing 'robes' that they provide me. It's pretty comfortable honestly.
so after the morning routine, we ate some food. Me and my classmates, most of the crops here are the same as our world (evolution is a wonder) but they do have some different names.
Either way, after we all ate and talked with eachother... I got a bit more attention from a few people. I mostly talked to Christie as she and her clique approached me.
The conversation was pretty mundane but I learnt about 2 of her unique skills from it! She was quite broken which makes sense as she is a hero to...
I mostly told her about how I applied magic and how my understanding of it's theory helped me learn it quicker.
She and her friends were impressed, her friends consisted of 1 of the fighters 'Sue', I'll call her and 1 bow-woman, 'Ria'.
Excuse me for choosing simple names- I just pick names that kind of resemble their real names but are much different.
But yes, Christie simply told me about what she thought of me taking charge and thanked me for doing what i did for our friends.
It was nothing and I told her so, after which 'training time' began and we all split ways.
Christie's skills- Perfect parry, physical attacks simply slip away from her shield or sword, if she tries to parry, it is guaranteed to succeed essentially. That's just hacks.
and her other skill, Impenetrable, It basically makes it so her defense cannot be breached no matter what, apparently her whole body is covered in light which is the 'ultimate' armor, from what I gathered, it seems to be a level based skill, so it should become stronger as she becomes stronger to
So far, i don't know her last skill or if she even has one, but her defenses have a flaw, one that I will hopefully be able to cover for in the future.
regardless, I made my way to training, Yewinda was right there and waiting for me and the others, we started training and Dori and Gwen started working on earth magic
Earth magic had a different method of application so they were taking their sweet time, while Yewinda worked with me to further my own application
As I had already learnt earth magic and could use it, she asked me to try and control pure magic outside of my body, which I did as it was the same as gravity magic.
She explained to me that controlling formless magic was a more intermediate skill as it required a really good feel and needed attuning with magic
she asked me to give the pure magic energy form and compress it into a shape, I did as I was told and made a sphere in the air
She then explained that I could do with that magic as I wished, whether it be use it to push people with gravity magic, combust it to make a fireball or changed it's shape to make water. Or just used it to compress a large amount of air, the possibilities were upto me.
I understood the applications as I casted the spell every mage needs in their arsenal. Fireball.
It was surreal honestly, it was amazing.
for the next 2 hours or so, I did just that as I got a hang of using larger quantities of magic and larger scale spells.
Which reminds me. I used my sage's craft at 2 am before I slept. I got myself magic absorption..... which caused me to get a cooldown of 16 hours, which is fine I guess.
Magic absorption is pretty good though, I can absorb magic in any form as long as it doesn't overload me and touches my skin.
I can make myself a lightning rod, take in magic and pour it down into the ground, it's a good utility skill
speaking of utility, using water magic on a larger scale helps a lot, I can make a watershield now! it's a great counter for fire and I can just increase it's density for physical attacks.
i can see why waterbending was so overpowered.
after practice, I just stuck around the ground again as Yewinda went off to do something and wished me luck with practice.
I had started messing around with magic as I figured out a bit of a way for me to move around better, basically i compressed magic under my feet and instead of combusting it, I just de-compressed it and let it go
basically charging up potential energy which led to kinetic energy and makes me fly off
like a big jump! It worked out quite well for me and it was amazing
I was going to experiment more but.... I was approached by Esca, the teacher of the fighters and the captain of the knights.
She.... asked to fight me, a spar to gauge my ability because she was surprised at me being able to kill a monster when I had barely been in the world for a day.
I.... also wanted to see how far I had gotten in terms of magic and how I compared to her.
I activated accelerated thinking
I had made a battle plan and hoped and wished I could do something but before we fought, she literally punches one of the boulders around and she made it fly into the air. IT FLEW
she told me I had 5 minutes and there I went off, trying to get ready.
After some thinking and making a plan she and I face eachother, she didn't draw her sword, she didn't need to.
As soon as she gave me a signal, I immediately use gravity amplification on her and make her a crater under her, sending a stream of grease down the crater which covered her a bit
She immediately jumped up from the crater, she flew up like a rocket and she KICKED THE AIR
SHE KICKED THE AIR AND WAS HEADING TOWARDS ME
I used gravity magic to push myself away and immediately compress a large amount of magic, I compressed as much as I could at once and launched a fireball, it had turned blue in color and I had launched it towards her with a lot of force
and she swatted the fireball away. she swatted it. it didn't matter.
I try to cage her in a earth prison by raising up 4 walls around her but she just punched through.
I didn't have much idea on what I could even do, I launch a water wave quickly expanding my magic which wets her a bit, I proceed to launch a lightning bolt as she simply flares up her 'Yew'. I hit her but it doesn't even leave a scratch.
I have not explained 'yew' yet I guess. I will explain it after i narrate this battle
she proceeds to reach me, far too fast for me to move even if I was able to react to her due to accelerated thinking, I get punched and downnnnnn I went
As soon as I went down, I immediately used gravity to try and push her away but she was too strong, it didn't even do anything, she just looked down at me with a smirk
I knew I couldn't really do anything so I surrendered and raised my arms
She was satisfied and told me that I was doing better than most rookies who have lived in this world all their life
She explained to me that I simply need to increase my control and potency
After she explained why I couldn't do much and she told me not to take it to heart, she simply left
And now, I will explain to you the concept of "Yew"
Yew is like what most of us know as Aura, swordsmanship energy and all that.
In a way, Yew is like raw magic
I'm this world, people are either born with the ability to use magic or the ability to unlock yew
Magic is like water, it's very liquid like in the body and I can feel it freely, from what I have learnt
Yew is dense energy that doesn't flow, people who manifest it make it appear as a violent out flowing energy that isn't malleable like magic
Yew has 2 main properties, defensive that allows a person to coat themself in it and it doesn't allow their physical body to be hurt, like how my lightning bolt didn't do anything
Or offensive capability to augment strength or even to make attacks more lethal
The punch I experienced, it shredded my skin a bit, yew itself is a destructive power for sure and seems to be even harder to manipulate freely
That's all I really understand at the moment....
For now I'm just going to bide my time and start practising more, to become stronger, in a bit I am gonna meet Esca again and she will teach me how to fight better and perhaps how to use a sword as well
My close quarters is much weaker compared to my ranged, so some investment there isn't bad
