Synopsis
Cipher, a legendary player of "Demongate" and holder of multiple world records, sat alone at his computer, reading through forum posts doubting his abilities. The game's infamous Undead difficulty had sparked heated discussions, with many claiming it was impossible to clear - even for him. After 30,000 hours of playtime, being the first to clear Lunatic difficulty, and holding the world record for Demongate speedruns, he couldn't let these challenges go unanswered. With practiced efficiency, he performed the ritual that few would attempt - dying and reconnecting exactly 44 times with his level 44 character, Nyx. As his character transformed into a Death Knight, completing the secret Easter egg condition, something unprecedented occurred. The screen flashed, but instead of the expected transformation, he couldn't log out. Moreover, the NPCs, who shouldn't have been able to speak, began showing loyalty as if they were alive. Furthermore, the outside world was now an unknown realm.

Title: Is Undead Difficulty Really That Hard?

No one has beaten it yet, is that true?

ㄴ It's like ten times harder than Lunatic mode

ㄴWow! You know about Sans difficulty! For those who don't know, let me explain! Sans difficulty is REALLY.FREAKING.HARD!

ㄴShut the fuck up you piece of shit

ㄴHaven't tried it yet?

ㄴYeah, thinking about trying it now

ㄴDon't cross that river, my friend

ㄴDon't say it's too hard, it makes my blood boil

ㄴEven the 7th rank of Invincible 7 Palace hasn't been cleared yet, that says it all

ㄴPersonally, Souls-like games are nothing compared to this

"Is it really that hard?"

A difficulty that makes Souls-like games look like child's play.

I thought they were exaggerating, but even I'm getting nervous now.

ㄴCipher probably can't beat it either?

ㄴDefinitely not. Why do you think I haven't tried even once? I'm just a coward

"..."

ㄴ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_╭∩╮(Fuck you)

ㄴWhy the middle finger all of a sudden?

ㄴWait, could you be...

ㄴAre you Cipher?

"People really say whatever they want online."

Saying Cipher couldn't do it. Those words triggered me.

Who am I as 'Cipher' of Demongate, not just as a human?

30,000 hours of playtime. World's #1 in Demongate speedrun. The first user to clear Lunatic difficulty.

"You're saying I can't beat it?"

Impossible.

I've been busy with work lately, so gaming took a backseat. Maybe that's why users think I'm washed up.

Let me be clear - it's not that I couldn't do it, I just haven't tried. If I had, the Demongate gallery would be flooded with posts praising me by now.

ㄴJust wait, I'll show and prove

I turned off my phone and threw it on the bed.

A week at most. No, I'll clear it in four days.

I stretched my stiff body and sat in front of the computer.

My fingers moved across the keyboard and mouse as fast as a pianist's.

[Character Nyx has died.]

[Would you like to exit Demongate Playthrough?]

[Exiting Demongate Playthrough.]

[Welcome to Demongate Playthrough.]

[You have selected character 'Lv. 44 Nyx'.]

It might look like I died accidentally, but this was intentional.

The infamous Undead difficulty isn't actually an official difficulty. More precisely, it's an Easter egg.

When a level 44 character dies 44 times in a row, and you quickly reconnect 44 times after each death, this Easter egg activates.

For newbies, it's beyond tedious and strains their wrists, but for me, it's as natural as breathing.

After the 44th death, the character transforms into an undead, and it's not just appearance that changes - stats and other detailed elements change too.

What makes it difficult is largely due to human NPCs' hostility. People say if you want to experience GTA's 5-star wanted level indirectly, try Undead difficulty.

"Oh, it worked."

After dying 44 times, my character had become a corpse.

Nyx, who was originally human, had now properly grown into a Death Knight.

"This is going to be fun."

I should finish this quickly and post proof on the community.

Suddenly, there was a flash of light from the monitor, and that was my last thought.
