Chapter 1 - Into The Pages

"Ahhh, I can't wait for the new chapters of this novel!" Yoon Soo exclaimed, her face alight with excitement as she twirled around her small bedroom in a happy dance. The anticipation practically radiated off her. The story she was reading had become her obsession—each twist and turn in the tale consumed her thoughts.

But her euphoric moment was interrupted by the sudden chime of her phone. A new email notification popped up on the screen.

"Huh? A random email from... the author?" she muttered, tilting her head. Suspicion crept into her expression, her lips curling into a smirk. "This has to be some kind of scam. There's no way the author of my favorite novel would email me personally."

Still, curiosity gnawed at her. She hesitated for only a moment before tapping the notification. The subject line read:

"Get your dream character~~~ ehehehehe"

Yoon Soo's brow twitched in annoyance as she scanned the bizarre message. "What kind of nonsense... dream character?" she muttered, a sarcastic grin tugging at her lips. Yet, her finger hovered over the strange link embedded in the email. Against her better judgment, she clicked it.

The moment she did, a sudden dizziness overtook her. Her vision blurred, and a sharp pang surged through her temples. "What the—" she began, but before she could finish, the world spun out of control.

Her body collapsed onto her bed, unconscious.

Yoon Soo groaned, her head throbbing as she opened her eyes to a dimly lit room. The scent of aged wood and faint perfume filled the air. She blinked, trying to focus. "Ah... where am I? My damn head hurts..." she muttered, rubbing her temples.

As her vision cleared, her surroundings came into view—a lavish bedroom that looked like it belonged in a medieval castle. Ornate furniture, thick velvet curtains, and a massive gilded mirror adorned the room. It felt familiar but... wrong.

"This looks like it's from some historical drama... but not exactly? What is this?" she whispered, unease creeping into her voice.

Before she could piece things together, the door burst open, and a flurry of maids stormed in.

"Lady Terryl! How can you still be in bed at a time like this?" one maid cried, her voice frantic. The others bustled around, their hands already tugging at Yoon Soo's—no, Terryl's—bedclothes.

"Today is your wedding day! You must get ready immediately! What will His Majesty Devean de Elmir think if his bride arrives late to the ceremony?" another maid scolded, holding up a wedding gown shimmering with jewels and embroidery.

Terryl—Yoon Soo—froze, her eyes widening. Her heart pounded in her chest as the words registered.

"L-Lady Terryl? Devean de Elmir?" she repeated in a strangled whisper. Her mind reeled. "Wait a second... isn't that the characters of the novel I just finished reading?!"

Her breathing quickened, panic setting in as the maids continued fussing over her. The pieces of the puzzle began falling into place, and the realization hit her like a thunderclap.

"W-WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!" she screamed internally, unable to voice her panic aloud.

Her favorite novel, the story she had obsessed over for weeks, was no longer just a tale she read from the safety of her bed. She was in it.

And she was the bride of the psychopathic, tyrant emperor—Devean de Elmir
