"You need proper treatment," she insisted. She was being cuddled by Jayden as they lay half naked on the hospital bed.
"But I want to be with you!" he replied childishly.
"You'll have scars if I don't take care of those bruises." She stood and started dressing up.
"Okay! I'm waiting. Why don't you have the kit here, though?"
"The hospital doesn't provide for each ward, but if you are rich enough, you could support us."
She was about to leave when he wanted to call her back, but he couldn't remember her name.
"Senorita!" he uttered.
"I am Shirley," she said, trying to hide her disappointment. How could she have slept with him without knowing his name? It was embarrassing, and she felt cheap.
"I am Jayden," he smiled.
She smiled back at him.
"I love your smile," he added, watching her leave.
She shyly walked to the other ward to get the kit. "Jay, I hope you're not allergic to med—" She paused. "Jay!" She called out, but the room was quiet. He wasn't inside. "Jayden!" Her voice shook. There was a lump in her throat. She felt like crying. Was she just used and dumped? She exhaled, trying to clear the lump, but it remained. She had been foolish. What was she thinking?
"I thought he wanted me to be his girl," she whimpered, crying alone.
She considered reporting him to the police but dismissed the idea. It would only make her look foolish since they'd find out she slept with him. How cunning he was to have had that in mind.
"You will pay!" she muttered, wiping her tears and pretending nothing happened. She canceled his hospital admission, erased all traces of him, and moved on with her life.
