Alicia took one look at Maeve and did what any cowardly, backstabbing traitor would do in this situation.
She ran.
Like, full sprint. No hesitation. No looking back. Just pure survival instinct.
I didn't even blame her.
Because if I had the option to flee from this situation, I absolutely would have.
Unfortunately, I was still trapped in my own body, and Maeve's amused, mocking presence was right in front of me.
