The consequences of anyone discovering the truth were too horrifying to imagine. With that thought, she carefully picked up the book that detailed everything about the curse. She knew it couldn't remain out in the open.
She scanned her room until her eyes fell on a barely noticeable compartment built into the wall. It was small and discreet, hidden beneath a wooden panel near her wardrobe. She knelt down, pried the panel loose, and slipped the book inside.
After ensuring the compartment was secure and the panel properly in place, she turned her attention to the remaining four books she had borrowed. Intending to return them tomorrow.
