Galactic Domination: Rise Of Earth

Sitting at his desk, Daniel looked at his monitor expecting failure but hoping for the best. He is 5 minutes away from results that could make and break his entire career and plunge him into financial ruin or greatness. 10 years prior, he inherited 155 million dollars from his grandmother, which he then invested into a tech and accounting company. While his brother ran the accounting division of the company, Daniel completely emersed himself in the technology. In particular, space and ocean technology for exploring and habitation. He completely revolutionized spacecraft technology, enabling him to send an empty craft to the moon for 6.5 million dollars.

A year later, he sent 12 men and women to the moon, followed by 4 vessels with materials and parts to build the early shell of a Lunar Observatory and Research Lab. NASA gave him 1 billion dollars to make it happen, but he did it with only 200 million. Now, he made a big gamble. He not only launched another 12 astronauts to replace the first 12, but he also attached a cutting-edge satellite worth 15 billion dollars to the same ship to be launched together. Over the last 11 years, the company brought in 44 billion on its own, along with 29 billion from grants and investments from around the world. 

He locked himself in his office on the day of the launch, awaiting the results on his computer. As his eyes briefly left the screen to check his phone, the virtual assistant spoke, "Grasse Space Observer now online." He leapt from his chair and bolted down the hall to the Command Room. Everyone was celebrating but quickly applauded him the moment they noticed his presence. All his calculations and hopes, was successful. The satellite was delivered to its position, and the crew is now on their way to relieve their comrades on the moon, no hiccups. In the room, were 7 phones called Priority Lines, and they all started to ring. 

By midnight that day, he had over 250 billion dollars to work with going forward. Over another 10 years, he launched 3 more satellites, announced the completion of the Lunar Observatory and Research Lab, as well as a fleet of 27 Super Submarines long in the works. Nyx Enterprise became the most powerful organization in the world, as well as the most staffed. Now a multi trillion-dollar company, they oversee the launch of every vessel leaving the planet, as well as supplying 51% of all the technology used in space and oceanic exploration. Daniel Nyx was not only dominated the tech world, but he also had a good handle on politics. 

At the age of 65, he ran and won the US Presidential Election, becoming the 50th president. His victory was all too easy, gaining not only the popular vote of 89%, but also 478 electoral votes. He had four sons, two daughters and 4 grandkids, each burdened with their own responsibilities. Yolanda, his oldest, he made his Chief of Staff and distributed the authority of the company to the other children. He chose one of his children to the be the leader in his place but kept it private from others not in his immediate family. He also instructed his children not to reveal it unless necessary. 

None the children wanted to be the CEO, lacking confidence to run a company that large. Instead, they insisted on having The Board elect a temporary CEO in their place. However, Daneil rejected that idea and insisted on having the supreme authority of the company in the hands of the family, preferably his children, to give them the experience for when his time eventually is up. He formed the Nyx Family Oversight Council and appointed several family members which his kids will manage with equal authority. This way, responsibilities can be delegated, while the power remained with his heirs. The genius of this decision was lost on many, but he believed they would get it eventually. 

One of the children was made the true CEO by the refusal of the others, tasked with the power to veto any decisions made by the family or The Board, as well fire and hire. The one chosen was not announced for reasons only known by the Deniel and the children. Any major decisions can be made without that child, but if disapproval is voiced, those decisions cannot go forward. Deniel had a private conversation with that child, giving advice and instructions, along with a special phone, tablet and watch. With all things in place, he left the rest to his kids and began his plans for his presidency. 

Considering his popularity and influence, there was very little opposition to his agendas. If an existing law got in his way, he petitioned Congress and had them changed. On that front, he was successful 70% of the time. When unsuccessful, he did not fret. His Vice-Presidential pick was an astrophysicist and biologist, who he deputized to oversee NASA and make policy changes where necessary. His main objectives were ensuring earth was on the fast track of technological development, as well as to be a voice in the law making for space exploration and settlement.

Since he is only the president of the US and not the world, he could only start there and hope the rest of the world fell in line. Firstly, he got funding for Ceasar Industries to mass produce special missiles with asteroid deflecting capabilities, leading to the creation of the most powerful missiles to ever exist. Just missile held the power of 5 hydrogen bombs. Additionally, the Ceasar Laser showed great potential, able to vaporize 30 million metric tons. US had three satellites designed and equipped with the Ceasar Laser, 1 to orbit the moon, 1 to orbit Earth and the to orbit Mars, built and launched within a year. 

He equipped the US Military with the same laser, giving them an even greater edge in combat. Using his great influence, he got many things passed by both Congress and the United Nations (UN). For every human on earth, health care shall be completely free, as well as education. While it took some time, he managed to pass the 'Food for All" bill that guaranteed anyone unemployed and making less then 66,000 dollars a year would receive a special card that guaranteed them free food and water anywhere they went. A Lunar Agreement was signed, stipulating that the moon can only be used for observations, research and astronaut training. 

After winning reelection, he passed 'Univeral Housing and Allowance', providing homes for every homeless person on earth, as well as a monthly 3,000-dollar nontaxable check for all unemployed. He also introduced E-Credit also known as Earth Credit or EC, as a global currency, to be used anywhere. To save people from their own bad spending habits, only 50% of their true wealth can be accessed through the E-Credit system, the other 50% must be accessed in person for nonrecreational and noncriminal use. Everyone who signs up for EC, would receive 100,000 EC to deplete before their true funds are loaded in. 

By the end of his term, Deniel left with a 100% approval rating, his influence greater than ever. His Vice President succeeded him, with his daughter Yolanda as the new Vice President. At the request of the UN, he took a position on the Earth-Space Council as Chief Orbiter and EC Secretary. Those positions gave him some authorities on Earth, but greater authority in space and over the EC system. While he could've returned to the CEO position in his company, he chose to leave it as is, considering how it has been working.

At 73 years old, he leaves Earth's surface, to live and work on the Earth-Space Council's very own space station, designed by his company and considered the pinnacle of humanity's technological achievements thus far. However, he was not satisfied with just that, so he launched two initiatives. Firstly, his work in climate correcting and duplication was turned into a competition, with entire companies forming to build devices to help balance the climate and replicate it in space. It became a 2 trillion EC initiative, inspiring many. 1 million EC person were given to any institution who sent trained and educated individuals to the Lunar Institute for various space missions, to further mankind's reach. 

Daniel's brilliance propelled Earth to having no less that 3 cutting edge satellites orbiting every planet in the solar system. Nyx Enterprise and Ceasar Industries revolutionized energy generation, creating a Solar Emulator, providing Earth with unlimited and clean power, not to mention, creating faster and safter ways to get people to and from space. While there are multiple countries and powers on Earth, in space, there are only Citizens of Earth. Under his watch, Earth became a two celestial body system, with commercial travel to the moon and back as normal as going to the store. 

However, there was a secret to his brilliance and his company's outstanding capabilities. Before the founding of Nyx Enterprise, half of these things were not predicted to happened for another couple hundred years. Deniel got Earth here in less than 90 years. Now 92 years of age, Daneil returned to Earth's surface announcing his retirement. His eldest son Nathaniel was made the Director of the Lunar Institute, and his eldest child Yolanda took his place as Chief of Earth-Space Council (ESC). Both appointments were his recommendations, met with zero opposition. As for the EC Secretary, he left that for Yolanda to decide, setting a precedent. 

One day, he called a meeting with his entire family, revealing many secrets individually and collectively. To that child, now 35 years of age, he gave some final advice and orders. Finally, on his 98th birthday, he took his final trip to space, to never return. He will fly through space in his smart ship programed to avoid planets and other celestial bodies to eternally wander the cosmos. From the age of 25 to now, Daniel devoted his life to the progress of Earth and his family. Now, he can let it himself rest while taking in the great cosmos he's worked hard to access. The next chapter of his work is now in the hands of family and the rest of the world.
