Darly had been bathing in the river for some time, his clothes tossed near the riverbank. Without him noticing, the women from the group appeared, carrying baskets of dirty laundry and chatting among themselves.
Carol: I'm so worried about my daughter.
Andrea: You're not the only one; I'm worried about my sister too.
They were discussing everyday concerns when they noticed the clothes scattered near the water.
Lori: Whose clothes are these?
Andrea: I don't know.
Curious, Andrea approached the river, trying to figure out whose clothes they were when suddenly something emerged from the water, startling them all.
Carol: Ah!
Lori: Oh my God!
Andrea, who was closest, jumped in fright as well.
Darly had taken a quick dive and, upon surfacing, saw several startled women.
Darly: What happened? Why do you all look so scared?
Andrea took a deep breath, relieved it was only Darly.
Andrea: Darly, you almost gave us a heart attack!
Darly: Really? I didn't even see you all there.
That's when Andrea noticed he wasn't wearing a shirt. For the first time, she realized how impressive his physique was, something she hadn't paid attention to before. Embarrassed, she turned her gaze away but couldn't help but ask:
Andrea: Wait... Are you naked? Oh my God!
She turned her back to him, her face flushing with embarrassment.
Darly glanced around, visibly uncomfortable. Even submerged in the water, he felt awkward about the situation.
Darly: Hey, can you do me a favor?
Andrea (still facing away): What is it?
Darly: Can you grab my pants for me?
Andrea: Sure.
The other women watched the scene, exchanging curious looks.
Lori: Maybe we should come back later.
Carol: Agreed. We don't need to do this right now.
They giggled quietly and left, leaving Andrea and Darly alone.
Darly moved toward the riverbank, and Andrea handed him his clothes.
Darly: Are you just going to stand there watching?
Andrea: No! Sorry!
Darly stepped out of the water and quickly got dressed, his wet hair glistening in the sunlight.
Darly: All right, I'm dressed.
Andrea: Okay...
When she turned around, she saw Darly up close and realized how handsome he was, almost forgetting why she was there.
Darly: What are you doing?
Andrea: Oh... Just washing some clothes.
Darly: Got it.
After a brief pause, Darly remembered something.
Darly: Do you know how to shoot?
Andrea: No.
Darly: If you want, I can teach you.
Andrea: Really? That would be great. Thanks!
He nodded in farewell and started heading back to the camp but stopped suddenly.
Darly: How about tomorrow?
Andrea heard him and turned around.
Andrea: Tomorrow what?
Darly: Tomorrow I'll teach you how to shoot.
Andrea: I'm in!
Darly nodded and continued to the camp. When he arrived, he saw everyone busy with their tasks. He paused to think about the group's next steps. There were still a few weeks until Rick woke up, and the trip to Atlanta for supplies seemed inevitable.
Darly (thinking): Should I go ahead? There might still be survivors in the city, but it must be dangerous.
After some thought, Darly decided to go to Atlanta to look for resources and survivors. He went to tell his brother.
Darly: Merle, just letting you know I'm heading to Atlanta to find survivors and supplies.
Merle listened and, knowing the risks, decided to join him.
Merle: If you're going, I'm going too.
Darly didn't argue. He knew having his brother's help would be good, and Merle wouldn't change his mind anyway.
Darly: All right.
Before leaving, Darly remembered he needed to let Andrea know. He returned to the river and called her.
Darly: Andrea!
Andrea and the other women, who were washing clothes by the river, turned to him.
Andrea: Yes?
Darly: I won't be able to teach you tomorrow. I'm leaving the camp.
Andrea looked a bit disappointed but understood.
Andrea: That's okay. But where are you going?
Darly: Atlanta.
