"Joshua you're amazing!"
"Bro how did you even expect the corner from Osho?"
Questions poured in as the team gathered round their goal scorer who looked to be short of words.
Kaiser had told him he planned to take an unexpected corner, similar to what Liverpool did against Barcelona to complete their UCL comeback.
However Kaiser forgot that they were still a few years too early for that to happen. He explained everything to Joshua before hand, even telling Hezekiah to win a corner by any means.
It worked well because the only two people who know about the plan were himself and Joshua. Solomon was completely lost when he saw Kaiser take the corner, but his confusion quickly turned to excitement when he say the ball hit the back of the net.
Kaiser looked away from his teams celebrations and saw his mother jumping for joy, along with the other parents of his teammates.
He then caught a glimpse of Joshua's father who was now smiling proudly while gesturing to his son on the pitch. Joshua caught a glimpse of this and was trying to maintain his composure, but he was obviously excited.
They boys all moved into position for the restart, but as soon as Peter kicked the ball back to his teammate to start the play, "Fweeettttt" the referees whistle screamed through the air.
Followed by the screams and cheers of the boys of team A, while the members of team B collapsed on the ground. Partly due to fatigue, but mostly as a result of blowing the lead in the final minutes of the game.
The two coaches of both teams walked to the center of the pitch before signaling for their teams to come forward.
"You have all done very well. Give yourselves a round of applause." Coach Idris encouraged both teams.
"I know nobody wants to be on the losing side, but winning this match wasn't all that mattered. Those men behind me." Coach Idris said while gesturing to the scouts behind them who were now mostly on their feet, waiting so they could approach the players that caught their eye.
"From now on you will be faced with three choices. If you have been deemed fit, these foreign scouts will try to get you to join their academy. Alternatively another academy might try to poach you off of us." He said.
The statement aroused murmurs from both groups, this prompted a laugh from coach Idris. " I understand it could be strange, why would we willingly give our prospects to other academies right? Well it's because we truly want to see you all succeed." He said with a warm smile.
"If choosing another academy would likely help your chances then we would rather not hold you back. And lastly, those who are not chosen, or want to remain here are free to do so and will be welcome with open arms." He said with his familiar kind demeanor.
"Alright everyone, I wish you good luck."
