Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

When the grandfather and granddaughter arrived at the fresh market, He Yang Bao took his granddaughter to the pork shop as she had requested. Su Su pointed and took both pork and bones to boil soup for her grandparents to nourish their bodies. As for the vegetables, she didn't buy many because her grandfather had said that there were many more vegetables in the garden. He Yang Bao carried the heavy meat on behalf of her granddaughter, while Su Su only carried a few vegetables. As they were walking out of the market, Su Su looked up at her grandfather and asked him to take her to the clothing shop.

" Why do you have to go to a clothing store? Grandma has already sewed many of them for you."

" Oh, Grandpa, I never wanted to buy clothes for myself. I wanted to buy them for Grandpa and Grandma. I had to buy more because Grandma is old. If I let her sew for too long, her eyesight will deteriorate."

" Oh, then Grandpa will take you. Grandpa really thought too little. Thank you, Su Su, for helping Grandpa take care of your grandmother."

" Of course, this lovely granddaughter's duty is to Grandpa. Hehe, why should Grandpa have to thank me again?"

" Hey, this guy, I really did not make a mistake in bringing you here. You are so filial, Su Su."

He Yangbao could only use his other free hand to stroke his granddaughter's head. He was no longer afraid that Su Su would get lost. He hadn't seen many people walking around the city recently. This was because this city was a remote city with nothing much to offer to begin with. The number of people in the city and the village wasn't that many.

Su Zu smiled with satisfaction after receiving her grandfather's compliment and also felt the love and warmth from the old men beside her who had taken care of her for more than three months. Even though they were old and did not have much income except for occasionally bringing vegetables to sell at the market, they had taken good care of her. Now that she had enough money to take care of them, Su Zu wanted to repay them.

The grandfather and granddaughter walked back along the same route that they had come from when they entered the city. He Yangbao let his granddaughter choose which shop she wanted to go to. Su Su saw that there were a few villagers in one shop, so she used her free hand to hold her grandfather's hand and led him to the shop immediately.

After entering the shop, Su Su did not hesitate to ask the shop staff to bring her several sets of fine clothes. Su Su only wore the old clothes of her grandparents' children, so she wanted to find a couple of good clothes so that she would not be too embarrassed if she needed them. Furthermore, Su Su wanted her grandparents to wear fine clothes, so she chose to order the staff like this.

He Yangbao heard his granddaughter's order, he could only sigh and thought that this granddaughter must want them to be comfortable, he also did not want to go against her wishes, so he could only wait for the shop assistant to bring him clothes to choose two for himself and his wife, while little Su Su also chose two clothes for her. If she grew taller, Su Su could come back here to buy clothes again, it would not be too late.

After the two of them had finished choosing their clothes, Su Su had already paid twenty taels for the clothes. This made He Yang Bao feel a bit regretful. He could only accept that this money was his granddaughter's, and she could use it however she wanted. Su Su, who had paid and received the clothes herself, looked up and asked her grandfather if the rice at home had run out. She wanted her grandfather to take her to buy some seasonings and rice to bring back home. She usually saw that her grandfather would come to the city every two weeks to buy fresh food and rice. This time, Su Su saw that they were all here, so she wanted to pay them back.

He Yangbao could only nod and take his granddaughter to a rice and condiment shop. Su Su, who saw so many products in the shop that she couldn't choose, could only frown and thought that with her and her grandfather's strength, they definitely wouldn't be able to carry so many things back. Su Su turned to her grandfather for help.

" Grandfather, is there a cart shop here? I want to buy some more things, so I'm afraid we won't be able to carry them all."

" Yes, there is. There is a shop selling wooden products not far from here."

" Then, can you please give me ten taels of silver to buy some and bring it here? I will choose the items and pay for them and wait for you here. I wonder if ten taels of silver will be enough to buy them ?"

" Enough, then wait for Grandpa here, don't go anywhere. Grandpa will go buy a cart and come back to you right away."

" Thank you, Grandfather. I promise you that you will not go anywhere."

After Su Zu finished speaking, He Yang Bao, who was still holding the meat, immediately walked towards the woodworking shop he had seen where there was a large cart selling goods. Su Zu held her clothes and vegetables in his arms before walking into this grocery store and quickly stating his needs so quickly that the shop owner could barely remember them.

The shop owner could only reconsider what Su Zu wanted before letting the workers scoop into bags for her according to what the little girl wanted. He wasn't afraid that she wouldn't have money to pay for the goods, since right now her hands were full of fine clothes. Su Zu was standing there thinking about whether the goods she had ordered would be lacking anything. She was afraid that if she bought them, Grandma would lack other seasonings. She herself had never cooked before. At most, she could only grill food. Su Zu didn't think for long before she decided to order one jin of each seasoning immediately. She thought it was better to have extra than not enough. After all, Grandpa was going to buy a cart. She wasn't afraid that she wouldn't be able to carry these things back home.

The shopkeepers quickly scooped twenty jin of rice for Su Su, then turned to scoop condiments into one-jin bags for her, with more than twenty types of condiments. By the time the shopkeepers had finished scooping, He Yang Bao had just parked a large cart in front of the shop. Su Su quickly had the boss calculate the bill and had someone put the twenty jin of rice onto the cart first, while the condiments were gradually put onto the cart for her later.

This time, Su Zu spent over twenty taels of groceries. The reason it was expensive was because she ordered the best quality rice instead of the mixed rice that her grandparents cooked for her. Of course, Su Zu wanted them to chew the rice easily rather than having to eat the hard mixed rice. The twenty-plus packages of condiments that the waiter had scooped out were quickly placed on the cart for the grandparents.

When she saw that everything was complete, Su Su also put the things she was carrying in her arms into the cart. She walked over to help her grandfather push the cart so they could go home. It was already quite past noon, and the two were afraid that their grandmother would be worried about them returning late, so they hurried to travel faster than they had come.

Two ke later, the two arrived at the gate of their grandfather's house. The villagers who had just finished eating lunch saw the grandfather and grandson pushing a large cart and all came to ask how they had gotten rich. He Yangbao could only say that they had only sold wild produce and gotten money to buy more food and supplies at home. He knew that if the villagers found out about ginseng, they would definitely force Su Su to help them dig it. He loved his grandson so much that he didn't want anyone to take advantage of her.

After talking to the villagers, Suzu opened the front door for Grandpa to push the cart into the house. She also adorably bowed to the villagers before asking permission to enter the house to help Grandpa and Grandma pack. Of course, before entering the house, Suzu closed the gate tightly so that the villagers would not see what she had bought.
