The next day, Chase let out a tired sigh. "Can I sleep now?"
Diana, curled up beside him as they watched TV, shot him a glance. "No."
Chase groaned. She'd already made him cook since, according to her, she hadn't eaten since he left, which made him feel a little bad. But then, she also told him he couldn't sleep. And now, early in the afternoon, he was exhausted—not from doing much of anything, but still.
Diana pouted. "You don't like spending time with me?"
Chase sighed. Right now, she had way too much leverage over him, and she was definitely abusing it. He vowed not to ignore her again for a while—she was clearly milking the attention.
"All we're doing is watching TV, though," he said, his voice heavy with fatigue.
Diana leaned in with a teasing smile. "But I want you to hold me tight."
Chase frowned but pulled her closer into his arms anyway. "You are so spoiled, you know that?" He closed his eyes, exasperated.
