Diana and Chase stood in the university president's office, the tension in the air almost palpable.
"Father, what are you doing here?" Diana demanded, her voice sharp with irritation.
Zeus adjusted the nameplate on his desk, brushing invisible dust off its surface, before leaning back with a smug grin. "Well, with two beings more powerful than me roaming this campus—and my beloved daughter attending—I thought it was the perfect opportunity to see what mortals find so fascinating about their world."
Chase sighed, the sound low and weary.
It's not like anything is going to change.
Zeus's grin faltered slightly, as if sensing their frustration, but he pressed on. "Also… Chase, your mother wanted me to tell you she'll be teaching here."
Chase's calm demeanor cracked for the first time, his voice flat as he asked, "…In my class?"
Zeus raised his hands defensively. "I couldn't stop her. She'll probably be here later today."
