The woman looked back at the edge, the strong, cold breeze touched her face, messing up her hair as she closed her eyes.
It was strange.
She thought she would be scared now, as she looked down and saw how high she was from the ground, but she didn't feel it, nor did she even hesitate. With no time to even turn back, the Brazilian took another step forward.
Her last one.
As she fell, memories of her life flashed before her eyes, the cruel childhood she had with her mother and little brother, how much she fought to graduate from school and help her mother, the moment she found out she had cancer and how much she fought to save up the money for the treatment.
Useless.
That's how she felt when her mother died before she could really help, she wanted to give up right there, but then she remembered her brother who still needed her and was strong. It was at that moment that she met Naruto and the silly cartoon became her escape valve. She continued working hard to finance her brother's college education, a dream that her mother could not fulfill.
Sleepless nights and days and days of overtime paid off when 4 years later her little brother not only graduated but got engaged and married, thus building his beloved family.
She felt good, she managed to fulfill what she promised her mother, she raised her brother the best she could.
The repetitive days that followed brought an expected emptiness, she spent her life running around and never stopped, she had no friends, boyfriends, passions, thinking now that maybe she wished she had had the chance but it was too late now.
Not that she regrets it, she would do it all over again for the people she loves, but her reasons to continue were over, it was time for her to leave too, her brother was happy, he had a new family and her mother was already waiting for her.
With that thought her body found the ground, leaving only a letter addressed to the little brother she loved so much.
