Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Cruel Fate

Where am I?

"Aah!" a groan resounded in a deep darkness.

"Why is everything black?"

Donk*

A metal sound rang.

Am I shackled?

"Ouch! My wrist is on fire. I can't bear it!" and the voice lost in the deep darkness as it engulfed the whole entity.

*Plink *Plink

A boy laid on the ground and the water droplet falling continuously on his face. His eyelids tremble and the hands move upward unconsciously toward his face, but a sharp pain wakes him from his slumber.

A view came before his eyes which he couldn't forget: Many boys his age was held and he didn't know the reason.

Time also didn't give him any moment to comprehend before two men in black robes appeared before his eyes.

The boy shuddered and shrunk in a ball: fear, panicked were all written on his face. His wrist was all red blooded while his face was deathly pale.

He noticed that one man's eye was covered, and another man had a scar on his eyebrow.

Scar-man continued to move while blind man stood at a position and inspected the surroundings.

Gaining and handling himself, his pupil shrank.

Who.. Who am I?

My memories....

Did I..

He shook his head and was still in a shrunken position, desperately searching for an answer for his question.

A shrill cry escaped out his mouth, "No!!!," and fainted on the ground.

Scar-man reached near the boy and a beast materialized behind him.

"Go and devour all boys' memories."

The beast drooled and moved toward its target.

Scar-man suddenly appeared beside blind-man and grinned, "How's it?"

Blind-man cast a glance.

Scar-man shrank his head, "Ok...ok. No funny things."

Ignoring Scar-man, Blind-man resumed his focus on boys, "Start the next step."

Scar-man aura completely changed, "Ok. Inform them."

"Hmm."

Many boys stood but their eyes were lifeless as all hope extinguished and will to resist were taken out. Their focus remains on blind-man.

Glancing at his product, blind man remained cold, and a deep voice resounded in the sealed area, "Summon your beast."

Various beasts materialized behind every boy.

"Order your beast to suicide."

These orders were enough as all the boys robotically followed the instruction.

Instantly, the boy rolled on the ground, "AAHHH!" a shrill and despairing cry resounded as blood was coming out of ear, nose, eyes and from every opening.

This torturing process continued and in just a moment: All boys were in the same shape.

The blind-man remained cold to everything, and Scar-man clicked his tongue, "Their requirement..." and sigh at these boys' upcoming fate.

Again, they both disappeared, and all the boys were still in their bad: near dying state.

....

All the boys still remained fainted on the ground: motionless, still as if frozen under ice.

"Tsk, this one died." and move toward other boys.

"Tsk. This one also."

"Tsk. Tsk. The quality is too low."

"Focus on that boy."

Scar- man cast a glance toward Blind-man indication: Previous boy who was the first to wake up.

Anticipating his luck, his step moved and touched the wrist.

"Hmm. Blood flow is normal." and opened the eyelid, "It's also fine." and put the hand on the chest, "Heartbeat is also normal." and continued various check-ups.

"Adaptability! It's amazing. He can be sent out to that place." Scar-man excitedly replied.

"Ok. He can be added to that list." Blind-man man remained oblivious to the scene as nothing was affecting him.

Shaking his head, Scar-man carried the boy on his shoulder and disappeared from that place as he wasn't there a second ago.

Returning to the original place, Scar-man moved toward the other boy.

A 2-inch bird materialized on Blind-man's shoulder.

"20 boys survived and there is 1 top-notch which I'll recommend that his potential is above limit."

The bird flinched and a strangely humane voice came out, "That's rare for you to praise."

"I may still be underestimating as I monitored them for all 1 year and they passed the highest-level trial."

"Hmm. I want you to focus on that boy."

"I'll prepare him."

The bird's eyelid trembled and robotically fell on the ground.

Blind-man raised his foot

*Puchi* the bird's blood splatter on the ground and a 2-inch bird on his palm.

Again, a beast materialized behind him but strangely there was no beast behind him.

A transparent layer fell on the bird and disappeared from his palm.

"Time to start the real feast."

"Humm."

***

"No. I... I can't let you die."

A kind man, with a hole in chest, whose age would be around 30 years, on his last breath, blood leaking from his mouth, coughed, "Go." and the blood splattered.

Wiping the blood from his face, the boy lip quivered, "Trust me. I... I can."

"Run," and pushed the boy.

Shush*

An arrow pass through the neck and blood sputtered on the ground.

With a bitter smile, his eyes begged as were saying, "Run. I don't worth your time."

Calming his trembling body, the boy rose and ran in the opposite direction and the tear of blood falling from his eyes.

Why am I still pathetic?

Didn't I work harder than anyone?

Still, why?

Why?

A blood rage was erupting from his eyes but there were no ways to vent rather than swallowing up. And swear to himself, "I will change my owner destiny."

But he didn't notice his enclosed-ring tattoo on the right-hand wrist trembled and a bizarre and blurry figure appeared inside that.

The boy continued to run, and an agony of fire was leaking from his figure.

My owner never fated to meet his end!

This cruel fate!

Running after numerous hours, leaving a blood trail behind his back, the boy's vision started to become blurry.

Why can't I see?

"Oh! I even forget when I ate," with a bitter smile, eyelid shut down.

Losing all strength, the boy rolled on the ground due to having momentum in his body and his condition even more worsened.

Unconsciously his body shrunk in a ball and only tears were falling from eyes.

"Dead or fainted?"

"He can't die that easily."

Only these voices hummed in that place. And after a moment, everything changed as nothing happened and even the natural vegetation came to its original shape.
