As Tears started flowing down from her eyes, Lorina recalled her memories from childhood. Since she was a child her family and Karson's families were friends, and the Duke adored lorina as he didn't have a daughter, so one day both families agreed to be in laws. After that Lorina always thought Karson would be the one she marries and live happily ever after. She always loved though he never showed any interest in her . She thought that one day he'll come to know her love for him and starts to develop feelings for her. She foolishly believed it even after knowing he got himself a girlfriend. Suddenly a knock was heard , it was lorina's father count Marshal.
Upon hearing the news he rushed to his house to be with his daughter, unlike other noble families count loves his daughter unconditionally. Count Marshal knew that his daughter Lorina always loved karson and that she would be devastated now that their engagement has been called off. Hurriedly Lorina wiped her tears and took a deep breath before answering, ' Father, I'm taking a bath right now, Can we talk over at dinner?' she didn't want her father to know her pain. Her father reluctantly left that place. Lorina got freshen up and went to the dining room.
The count couldn't bring himself to talk but Lorina on the other hand acted as if nothing happened and smiling from ear to ear. The count could tell it's an act as he knew his daughter like back of his hand , that's why his heart tightened upon her usual behaviour . He wants his daughter to express her true feelings instead of a fake smile but he didn't want to rise his voice against his child who clearly doesn't want her father to know her pain.
Next day, Rose her childhood friend whose a daughter of her nanny, came to her to convey the message of the count. The count asked lorina to be in his office now. As rose conveyed this message, she wanted give lorina a hug but lorina's face was expresionless like a lifeless doll, rose was dumbfounded upon her stoic expression. Lorina went to the count's office as told but on her suprise the count gave her permission to stay at their guesthouse over a village which was near a sea. Her mother used to love being there but after her mother died the count never allowed anyone touch his wife's things.
