After a confrontation for a while, Ekans took the lead in attacking, and his huge tail swept over mercilessly. In the real world, apart from incredible abilities, Pokémon still often use their bodies to fight.

That rattlesnake-like tail was very fast, and the huge sound of cutting through the air made people have no doubt about the result of being hit by this tail.

"Psyduck, Confusion!" Jack's calm voice sounded.

With a flash of blue light in his eyes, an invisible confusion erupted instantly, and the powerful tail stopped abruptly in the air less than half a meter away from Psyduck.

"Gah!" Psyduck's concentrated Confusion threw Ekans out and hit a big tree, causing a lot of smoke and dust.

"Just right~" Ekans yelled in pain, shook his dazed head, his mouth revealed a bright red core, the yellow markings on his body wriggled as if they were alive, and his tail followed the increasingly high head, shaking crazily. It was clear that this Ekans was thoroughly enraged.

"Psyduck, Water Pulse!" Jack didn't care about Ekans' Rage and commanded Psyduck to use Water Pulse while taking advantage of the victory.

Psyduck raised his hands, and a huge water ball gradually formed above, which he threw towards Ekans forcefully. Just then, Ekans, now fully alert, was directly hit by this Water Pulse, and the huge impact caused the big tree behind him to fall down.

Water Pulse is a move Psyduck had learned not long ago. In addition to its considerable power, it could also cause the hit target to fall into confusion.

Unfortunately, luck seemed to be on Ekans' side this time. Although the effect of Water Pulse was significant, it did not cause Ekans to fall into confusion. He opened his mouth wide, and a dense barrage of Poison Barb sprayed out again.

"Psyduck, avoid!" Seeing this, Jack immediately gave an order, and Psyduck instinctively dodged to the side, narrowly escaping the Poison Barb.

After standing still, Psyduck was about to counterattack when suddenly a pair of scarlet eyes met his gaze, locking firmly onto him. Psyduck stiffened immediately.

Seeing this, Jack muttered to himself, "No, it's Leer!" This move was Ekans' signature hunting tactic—staring at its prey with sharp eyes, causing it to enter a paralyzed Contest Condition.

While Psyduck was frozen, Ekans moved swiftly, its coiled body closing the distance in moments. The effect of Leer persisted, and before Psyduck could react, Ekans completely ensnared him.

Having tightly entwined Psyduck, Ekans opened his bloody mouth wide and attempted another Bite, fiercely clamping down on Psyduck's head.

However, Ekans recoiled in shock, releasing Psyduck immediately. This yellow duck's head was unexpectedly hard.

The severe pain jolted Psyduck out of his paralysis Contest Condition. "Quack!" The blue light in Psyduck's eyes flared intensely, and Ekans was blasted away by a powerful wave of Confusion.

Jack was taken aback by this sudden display and focused on observing Psyduck.

Fighting is indeed the most important way for Pokémon to become stronger. Psyduck had now reached level 14, and due to the headache caused by the head attack, its Confusion had been enhanced. This kind of phenomenon, where a natural condition amplifies ability, was rare even among Psyduck.

Jack looked at Psyduck, who had once again blasted Ekans away with its overpowered Confusion, and asked with concern, "How are you, Psyduck?"

"Quack?" Psyduck tilted its head slightly, staring at its trainer with a confused look, clearly not understanding the question.

Jack sighed, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. This Psyduck seemed to possess the quirky unpredictability of the legendary Duck God.

Since Psyduck was unharmed, there was no reason to delay. Finishing off Ekans quickly was essential to avoid attracting more wild Pokémon to the area.

"Psyduck, use Water Gun."

Ekans, writhing in pain after being blown away by the enhanced Confusion, was struck directly by Psyduck's Water Gun before it could fully recover.

The serpent's body twisted and struggled violently, as though it knew its defeat was imminent. Ekans was unwilling to accept this outcome; it never expected this seemingly goofy yellow duck to possess such power.

A cold gleam appeared in Jack's eyes. The commotion of their battle had already disturbed both Pokémon and humans in the forest. While a 2-star Ekans in its larval stage might fetch a high price if sold, a wild Ekans of this level was worth little.

"Finish it off, Psyduck, with Aqua Tail."

Psyduck's tail lit up with a brilliant blue and white glow, surging like a stream of water. With a high leap, it brought the tail down like a crashing wave, striking Ekans' head with immense force.

Boom! The impact echoed like a giant wave smashing into a rock, accompanied by Ekans' agonized scream. Its massive body convulsed a few times before lying motionless on the ground, completely still.

Jack gazed at Ekans' lifeless body without much emotion. This world was far more complex than the idyllic image presented in the animations of his previous life. Here, survival often meant making hard choices.

However, Psyduck's mastery of Aqua Tail filled Jack with satisfaction. Strictly speaking, Aqua Tail wasn't a move Psyduck should be able to learn at its current level. Typically, Psyduck required a level of 20 or higher to unlock Aqua Tail.

But genetic inheritance could be incredibly powerful. Clearly, one of Psyduck's parents must have been highly skilled in Aqua Tail, granting Psyduck this ability prematurely.

Jack cast a final glance at Ekans. At level 20, its corpse wouldn't fetch much value, but it could still bring in a modest sum. Unfortunately, his space backpack couldn't accommodate such a large body, and Jack lacked the funds for more expansive storage equipment. He reluctantly decided to leave the carcass behind.

The dark clouds overhead drifted apart, revealing a sliver of moonlight. With a little time remaining before dawn, Jack packed up his tent, called Psyduck over, and left the battlefield behind.
