Chapter 36 - Spinning the wheel!

[The free opportunity to simulate each month is available, would you like to use it?]

"Go ahead, run the simulation!"

[Character creation in progress...]

[89 Yxa points available]

[The host can add attribute points freely on the character creation page...]

[The host can choose a family context].

[Detected that point balance is sufficient to unlock talents!]

"What!?"

This notification surprised Adam enormously, and excited him greatly in the process!

[Unlocking talents in progress...]

[Unlocking talents completed!]

[The talent page is now open, would you like to see it first?]

"Yes, of course!"

He couldn't spend his points willy-nilly after learning about this new page.

And it had to be as important as the pages about attributes and family background.

[Talent page displayed]

Suddenly, a translucent wheel appeared in front of Adam.

"What?"

Adam was truly surprised by the appearance of a wheel!

In this wheel, there were 3 predominant colors.

White, green and blue.

White covered 50% of the wheel, green 40%, and blue 10%.

And all the colors were scattered in different places on the wheel.

Adam suddenly thought of games from his previous life.

"Is this like a game of gâcha?"

At the same time, he noticed a small text floating above the wheel.

[Talent Wheel - Level 1]

"There are levels, so I guess the more you turn the wheel, the higher the probability of getting rare talents."

[Because the host has just unlocked the Talent Wheel, a further explanation will be given.]

[As the wheel spins, the host gains contribution value].

[Once the contribution value reaches a certain threshold, the Talent Wheel will increase in levels].

[The higher the level of the talent wheel, the greater the probability of obtaining higher-quality talents].

[Each draw for the first talent slot costs 10 points.]

"The first slot?"

Adam frowned.

He thought he could have accumulated talents ad infinitum as long as he pulled on that wheel, but that obviously wasn't possible.

[To unlock the second talent slot, 50 Yxa points are required, and 20 Yxa points will be needed to turn the wheel and assign a talent to that slot. Conversely, only 10 Yxa points are needed to turn the wheel for the first talent slot].

"I imagine that if there's a second slot, there will also be a third slot, a fourth slot et cetera."

Adam began to think, but quickly abandoned the option of unlocking that second slot.

"For the time being, it's better to assign Yxa points to the attributes on the statistics page."

"It's still not very expensive to go up a point, and yet just reaching 17 points in strength allowed me to become strong enough to almost rival a jewel master."

But at the same time Adam had a playful little smile.

"There's still the first talent slot on offer, and I can afford to play 10 points."

As if the system could hear his thoughts, a text appeared in front of him.

[Do you want to spin the wheel for 10 points Yxa?]

[Yes/No]

"Yes!"

Immediately, the wheel began to turn slowly, then gradually accelerated.

Finally, it spun at high speed, so much so that the arrow on the wheel designating the reward obtained when it stopped, was blurred in his eyes.

Then it gradually slowed down.

As the wheel slowed down, Adam could clearly see the arrow, which changed from green and then gradually slowed down to blue.

But Adam wasn't getting excited about this; as an old gambler, it was better not to get your hopes up, especially knowing that the odds were against you.

The wheel seemed to want to stop, oscillating between blue and the next white, before giving one last jerk.

Finally, it came to rest on the white.

A short silence filled the room. Adam blinked, staring at the arrow as if hoping it would change position again. But nothing happened. It was the blank.

Ding!

[White talent received!]

Adam huffed, although he didn't have high expectations, he was still disappointed.

[Contribution value is 1/10. Please reach 10 contribution points to move talent wheel to level 2].

[Talented Lancer (white): You progress faster than most people in handling the spear. However, once you reach a certain level, your progress will slow down significantly].

"The spear? That's interesting," Adam murmured, carefully observing the talent description window displayed in front of him.

"The talent doesn't look as weak as its rarity might suggest."

Finally Adam was no longer disappointed, at least the 10 points still seemed to have a good use.

"But..."

"I've got 79 points left Yxa, do I go on?"

Adam's playful mentality was really pushing him to keep playing!

[Do you want to keep the wheel turning?]

[Yes/No.]

Like a blood-sucking demon, the system appeared again at that moment.

Adam stood in front of the notification window for a moment, deep in thought.

Why was he thinking? Because it cost so much!

He only had one free simulation per month, and if he didn't do better than his last simulation, then he'd get a maximum of 50 Yxa points!

Because that's what he'd got in his previous simulation, if he didn't count the Yxa points rewarded by the various successes he'd achieved!

And in games, successes could only be obtained once!

So, this deserved real reflection.

So he thought.

He thought for a long time.

"What the hell!"

"Yes I want to keep spinning the wheel!"

He wanted to shout, but immediately thought of his family at home.

So he held back, although he still shouted but in a whisper.

[10 Yxa points subtracted].

[Remaining balance: 69 Yxa points].

[The wheel of talent will turn again].

The wheel began to turn again, with the same regular sound echoing through the room. Adam leaned forward slightly, his eyes riveted to the movement of the colors. It accelerated to lightning speed, then gradually slowed down. Once again, the arrow oscillated for a moment between green and white, before stabilizing.

Ding!

[White talent received!]

Adam closed his eyes for a moment, sighing.

[Combat sense (white): Your combat instincts are better than most people's].

"Hm. It could be useful, but frankly, it's not what I was hoping for."

"It looks even worse than [Talented Lancer]'s talent."

[Contribution value is 2/10.]

His contribution value increased by 1 point, but Adam didn't feel satisfied.

[Would you like to continue spinning the wheel?]

He hesitated again, then murmured:

"Yes..."

[10 Yxa points subtracted]

[Remaining balance: 69 Yxa points]

[The wheel of talent will turn again].

The merciless text of the system appeared once more.

And the wheel resumed its merry-go-round.

This time there was no suspense.

The arrow had landed directly in the middle of a white zone.

[White talent received]

[Charisma minor (white): You are slightly more persuasive in serious discussions. This talent is most effective against individuals of the opposite sex]]

Adam grunted in exasperation. His fists clenched.

"Is it just me, or do talents just suck more and more!?"

[Contribution value is 3/10.]

Adam's patience began seriously to wear thin.

[Would you like to keep the wheel turning?]

[Yes/No.]
