Just as Debbie and Felix were finding their rhythm,
Pasco made his move.
He showed up at one of Debbie's empowerment group meetings, looking sheepish but determined.
"I had to see you," he said after the meeting, pulling her aside.
Debbie stared at him, stunned. "Pasco, what are you doing here?"
"I made a mistake," he admitted. "I let you go when I shouldn't have. And I know it's selfish, but I can't stop thinking about you."
Debbie felt a pang of old emotions stirring, but she
quickly pushed them aside. "Pasco, you can't just waltz back into my life like this."
"I know," he said, his voice raw. "But I had to try. You're the only person who's ever made me feel… whole."
