From Bangkok, they traveled to Chiang Mai, a quieter, more serene city. Filex had booked a charming private villa overlooking the mountains. On their first night there, they sat by the pool, the stars above them mirrored in the water below.
"This feels like a dream," Debbie murmured, her toes dipping into the cool water.
Filex sat beside her, his shoulder brushing against hers. "It's not. It's real. And so are we."
She turned to him, her breath catching as she met his gaze. The way he looked at her—like she was the only person in the world—made her heart ache in the best way. Slowly, Filex leaned in, his hand sliding up to cradle her face.
Their lips met in a kiss that was soft and tentative at first, but quickly deepened, filled with unspoken promises.
When they finally pulled apart, Debbie's cheeks were flushed, and her heart was racing.
"Filex…" she began, but he pressed a finger to her lips.
"You don't have to say anything," he said softly. "I just want you to know how I feel. No pressure, no expectations."
Debbie smiled, her eyes glistening. "You're too good to be true."
